Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air
Use an extra adapter for home or work. Apple's new, innovative AC adapter is now even more portable and made specifically for your MacBook Air.

When the connection is secure, an LED located at the head of the DC connector will light; an amber light lets you know that your portable is charging, while a green light tells you that you have a full charge. An AC cord is provided with the adapter for maximum cord length, while the AC wall adapter (also provided) gives users an even easier and more compact way to travel.
Redesigned specifically for MacBook Air, the adapter is the perfect traveling companion. It has a clever design which allows the DC cable to be wound neatly around itself for easy cable storage.
This power adapter recharges the lithium polymer battery while the system is off, on, or in sleep mode. It also powers the system if you choose to operate without a battery.
Compatible only with MacBook Air.

Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air
MacBook Air 45W magsafe power adapter
Written by KH from Hancock

I've had my macbook air for 4 months. Today the power cord stopped working. By untwisting the thin cord and playing with it for awhile I was able to get it to function again, but for how long?
After reading all the problem reviews this scares me very much. I'm skeptical of the fragility of the wire that connects to my computer and the design that says wrapping it around the "legs" on the box for storage is a good idea. And I'm very deeply frustrated with my only option being getting a new one for 79 dollars. Come on - I spent about $2500 on macbook air, time machine, cd drive, software etc. etc. and 4 months later I don't even have a dependable power supply for my $2500 computer? …More105 of 112 people found this useful

Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air
Falls apart - and NOT worth $80. Maybe $8.
Written by HT from League City

While I like the ease of a magnetic charger, this one fell apart when only a few months old. The little magnetic head is actually three parts, and when the little silver/plastic-y casing comes apart from the base, the whole thing falls apart. It makes it difficult to charge your Mac without TAPING the magnetic head to the Mac. I've literally had to do this because I hate the thought of spending another $80 on a cheaply made charging cord. That's just RIDICULOUS! …More

Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air
Very fragile short life device with no repair parts available

Apple, are you listening?
So why don’t you recall and redesign the power adaptor?
The magnetic tip falls apart. No spare parts available and guess what, you have to buy the whole new adapter.
How can you expect customers to be loyal when a 10 cents part breaks and you tell your clients they need to spend 75 dollars to buy a new one?

Apple 45W MagSafe Power Adapter for MacBook Air
Bad Apple
Written by AS from peterborough

As I write, the tip of my Magsafe is splaying fine silver hairs like my Granddad once did. He died, and I fear my Magsafe is following suit.
The connector is coming loose from the wire, and any day or week soon the whole thing will surely come loose. What a comedown from my usual praise for quality Apple products. What a waste. …More12 of 13 people found this useful

What power cord adapter can we use for both a 13" Macbook and a 17" Macbook Pro?
- Asked by KP from SAINT LOUIS PARK

You can use a 85w adapter for both, because the MacBook can have the voltage regulated from 85w down to 60 for it to be compatible. You can NOT use the 60w on the MacBook pro. So just get the 85w for both. :) …More

You will need a different attachment (but *not* a voltage converter) similar to the "duck prong" (2-prong plug) in the item's picture.
The easiest way to do this is to buy the "Apple World Travel Adapter Kit". This contains all the adapters you should ever need.
Just take off the two prong plug and snap on the adapter. …More- Answered by RH from Star City

This charger is for the 13" MacBook/MacBook Pro, *not* the 15" or 17" MacBook Pros which use an 85W adapter. While you can use the 85W adapter on a 13" MacBook/Pro, you cannot use the 60W adapter on the 15" or 17" MacBook Pros. …More
