Very solid and compliments the iPad Mini
I was looking for a keyboard solution for my iPad Mini to mimic the usefulness of the original iPad keyboard dock.
After trying I was looking for a keyboard solution for my iPad Mini to mimic the usefulness of the original iPad keyboard dock.
After trying a number of integrated case/keyboard solutions, I couldn't find anything that still felt 'Apple' quality until I paired an Apple Wireless keyboard with the origami workstation.
The result wastes no extra space in my bag, leaves my iPad every bit as quick to access when being used as a handheld device and provides solid support for the iPad when touching the screen or pushing the Home key.
Not five stars? No, the velcro used to hold the device is ok and functional but not quite as classy as it could be - call it 4.5 stars.
Regrets? The Apple Bluetooth keyboard does not drive the iPad as well as the original iPad Keyboard Dock - no Home key or search keys - Dear Apple... …

I love this workstation and think its the best keyboard setup for the iPad. My only negative is that it doesn't stand well on a lap, but in normal use on a flat surface, it makes typing and using the iPad even more enjoyable than normal …

It appears to be a manufacturing d I loved the design of this case, but within a day of purchase, 3 of the velcro strips fell off! It appears to be a manufacturing defect, as there was zero adhesion of the glue to the actual velcro strip, but 100% adhesion to the actual case.
If this could be fixed by either using a second physical attachment method (such as sewing these strips on as well) or even better, by replacing these strips with a magnet setup this product would get 5 stars from me.
One other small improvement would be some sort of protection on the sides when closed to prevent the keyboard getting turned on while in a backpack. It's most annoying when the keyboard connects from the other room in your backpack and is stuck typing a random character! …

I originally had the fabric skin keyboard case from logitech for my iPad Air, but I returned it. It was ok. This product is above and beyond its quality and about $30 cheaper total. I knew I would find myself wondering back to the Apple Keyboard somehow. I must also mention that you can use your ipad in a case or smartcover while in the workstation. There is no need to feel like you wasted money on a case just to replace it with a keyboard. Great work Incase and Apple! …

I touch type and often use a keyboard with my iPad but didn't want a combined case and keyboard because I don't use a keyboard all the time. This give me a choice. How comfortable is this while typing on your lap? Is the ipad stable enough to do this safely?

Yes, but not if you use it as pictured. I just wrote a review telling how to use this for typing in Yes, but not if you use it as pictured. I just wrote a review telling how to use this for typing in the lap. What I found works best is reversing the stand, meaning instead of having the edges of the case work as the legs resting on the table (or lap in this situation), use the edges to hold the iPad and the middle to rest on your lap. There's velcro on both sides of the tab, and instead of folding it like the pictures, just fold it backwards so the "legs" point in towards you, you can easily rest your iPad on it and the middle part makes for a nice platform to rest on your lap. Hope this helps. …
