Thule makes another great protector for apple products

This unit h I purchased this Gauntlet 2.0 case to help cut down on weight of a backpack, as I just fill it up with too much stuff. This unit holds my macbook pro retina 15 and my ipad, with space for the chargers, accessories, and some papers if need be. It is very light compared to even a slim backpack, and seems very sturdy for protecting contents. One nice feature, you can use your mac while it is in the case. Just flip it open and off you go. Only drawback is, if you need to use usb drive or charge it you need to pull it out of the case as it is very form fitting. The materials all seem first rate, and not too many companies offering 25 year warranty, not that it will be around that long, still exudes confidence in their products. It's been three months now, and still very happy, no ifs and or buts. …

The only complaint I have is that it has tough weatherproof zippers that keep out the rain and moisture but the zippers are very tight as they should be and are covered and protected by a rubber like material, but this material also puts a lot of stress on the zipper pulls. Especially turning the corners of the case. I wish Thule would have put heavier zipper pulls on this bag. The pulls feel like they are under a lot of stress and I am afraid they are going to break off, especially if I turn them the wrong way as I am pulling on them which is easy to do. What a shame if the zipper pulls would break on this otherwise perfect protective case design. It is such a wonderful case. The clam shell design is perfect for working directly out of the case and for being such a tight case the wide base really does afford extra carries like a charger and such. Perfect all around except for the zipper pulls. I would guess Thule will have many broken zipper pulls coming back to them. One last little thing I would like to mention. Be mindful of the little marketing brochure that comes with the case. It is held together with a few magnets to keep it from unraveling. Do not know if it could hurt anything electrical long term if you kept it inside your case but might be better safe than sorry to throw it in an office drawer.

The case build quality is terrific everything right down to the zipper handles is well made. A couple of things to note for anyone considering to buy this product. This is a very good product and very ergonomic. The outer shell isn't rock solid, it has some give (which is a good thing in my opinion) and is comfortable to hold. The inside of this case is excellently designed, the iPad section if your not holding an iPad there can easily hold two a4 notepads maybe three with a squeeze. The three pockets in the back easily hold my hard drive, magic mouse and iPhone. The netted section behind that easily keeps the power cord and another things to a decent size. An all-round great carry case!! LOVING IT!!! …

The dimensions are hardly larger than the MacBook, but it offers really good protection and a decent amount of internal storage space. A small criticism; despite being an 'exclusive' Apple case, the internal pockets are simply too deep and not optimised for the kind of products a Mac user will need. A projector adaptor, headphone case, remote etc all disappear into the pocket depths and make retrieving them trickier than it should be. Also no pen pocket. That said, these are minor concerns and you should have no hesitation in buying one of these compact cases.
The handles are comfortable and seem firmly attached as is the carrying strap. …
