Great product, worth the hefty pricetag

The system sounds better at home than it sounds at the Bose store. Crisp Highs, proper Mids, and clear Bass. Bluetooth connectivity works well with iPhones and Nokia. Don't think twice, just buy it. It sits nicely in the living room, blends in well with the furniture. Very powerful sound, you have to hear it to believe it. When you show it off to your friends, they'll ask where is the subwoofer, or is that much sound coming from just that. Great buy. …

The bluetooth capability is nice and it picks up through most of the house. The only times it has disconnected is when the signal is broken by a concrete wall. I have it wired to the TV and it works well in that configuration. It also links up to my MacBook with no issue so I can entertain with iTunes or YouTube. Key thing is that you have to re-link to the different device each time when you use multiple. No big deal for me. It only takes a couple of minutes. …

Ugly Design -Great Sound
I repeat...The design is cheap and nasty, silver plastic and not very sleek or streamlined. HOWEVER.... I have to admit that as an I repeat...The design is cheap and nasty, silver plastic and not very sleek or streamlined. HOWEVER.... I have to admit that as an ipod dock the sound is rich and crisp and does not distort when the volume is turned up to the max.
When in bluetooth mode, it is a little disappointing, It doesn't quite cut it - the crispness is lost.
Changing from dock to bluetooth is irritating - you have to turn it off- unplug the the power chord from the AC outlet remove the cheap plastic dock and replace it with the equally flimsy bluetooth connecter - also made of cheap plastic. Everything about this system is cheap except the price and the sound (only as a dock). There has to be a better product out there with a comparable sound. I for one, will be returning the product for a refund...too ugly to keep even for amazing sound!!!! …

Great Room Filling Sound, can replace a full sized HiFi.

The bass can easily be adjusted by positioning unit few inches closer to the wall behind (more bass) or further away (less bass).
I found the best balance of sound is achieved by having apple devices music EQ set to off, that way you get punchy crisp treble and tight deep bass. I used to have a full sized NAD amplifier and floor standing Mission speakers, and this has given me an equivalent sound but uses up far less space.
Try and listen to your favourite music styles on speaker units when in store if you can, as I found demo music might sound great but my own tracks did not, this Bose sounds good with both gentle music (vocal/acoustic) and Rock/Dance. …

Whats the difference between the SoundDock 10 and the Bose SoundLink® Bluetooth® Mobile speaker II—Nylon Edition?

SoundDock 10 has AWESOME sound due to the subwoofer technology. SoundDock 10 is larger dimensions. SoundDock 10 has AWESOME sound due to the subwoofer technology. SoundDock 10 is larger dimensions. While it can be moved, you won't easily "grab and go" to move it around a lot. it is heavy and not a unit you will take to the beach or use in car or road trips. If sound quality is important and you will keep in the home - it is really excellent sound and worth the price.
Soundlink II is smaller and portable, ie. MOBILE. The sound quality is not nearly as amazing as the SoundDock10. It does not have subwoofer technology so it does not produce the big sound. Yet, it does have very good sound. It can easily be moved from room to room, to car, and taken on road trips. So if mobility is the key - this is the one to get.
SoundDock II fits somewhere between the two units. I would not take SoundDock II to the beach - but it is easily moved from indoors to outdoors because it is lighter and smaller in size than the 10. Does NOT have the subwoofer technology, but in my opinion, is better quality than the SoundLink.
If this is for a teenager, college student - go the Soundlink - good entry Bose portable sound system for use with iPod/iPhone. …
