Good idea, some improvements needed

The Belkin Aircast is a good alternative. Set-up is easy, there is plenty of cord to connect the power and Aux-in cable to the center console and have the Bluetooth speaker on the dash. When powered on it automatically connects to the iPhone4 and plays the last audio track instantly (which can be a pain since I have the Alarm Clock app set to certain music and that's where it starts off). The sound over bluetooth is excellent without any hissing and calls are clear, no complaints from the person on the other end either. However, if you want to listen to the car's radio or CD you will not hear your phone if it rings (you need to turn the Belkin off to hear it or switch to Aux)! I guess you could stream radio from your iPhone but that means you have to rely on 3G streaming. Or keep your iPhone in line of sight with a Proclip Dash mount (which is my plan). Overall a good product for the money. …

If you pr To all of you who have stated that track skip does not work, the trick is to not double press to go forward too quickly. If you press DA_DA rather than d-da, so a small gap in between, it will work. Trust me, I use this method all the time.
No issues with my unit either, but placing circular receiver carefully will pay dividends for interference avoidance on phone calls. Some modern cars have electronics in the cabin which will interefere with the bluetooth bandwidth. Take your walkabout landline in the car, turn down the car stereo and listen to your cellphone through the landline phone, moving receiver to optimum position for accessibility and interference.
Music over A2DP Bluetooth in Volvo C30 High Performance Audio is very acceptable indeed.
Hope this all helps. …

Works fine with iPhone 5S but not iPod 7th generation!

Audio for I have an '08 Volvo without bluetooth and adding this allows me to connect to my 5S without having to connect a thing. Audio for my calls through my car speakers works okay and clear on my end, even though I get a few complaints here and there. I try never to answer my phone while driving though. Connecting to my music through the iPhone 5S produces excellent quality!
And so, I thought I would just use this Belkin Aircast Bluetooth to use with my new iPod Nano 7th generation, and just leave that in my center console rather than use my iPhone. Big mistake. This will NOT connect. It just does not see it, no matter how I've tried to connect it. I've disabled bluetooth on the iPhone because I read that it can only use one device at a time. Still will not connect.
I called Belkin tech support and they all must read from a script, even the higher-level techs. They advertise this device as working BLUETOOTH with all iPods except the 7th generation. I told them it's impossible because this is the only iPod with bluetooth. They just didn't get it! I can definitely use the Belkin adapter of course hooking up an AUX cable from the headphone jack, but that kind of defeated the purpose of this.
I got a letter this morning that said they will correct their information on their website.
Just wondering if anyone using this bluetooth adapter did get it to recognize the Ipod Nano 7th G. …

Works but slightly lacking in audio quality
I've been using this device for just over a year now. It works as advertised, but I never use the hands free calling. Tested it I've been using this device for just over a year now. It works as advertised, but I never use the hands free calling. Tested it a few times and caller complained about noise. Also for whatever reason Siri sounds terrible and distorted.
I give it 3 stars because of convenience factor. It is nice to get in the car and tap a button and music starts. I just recently switched to Apple's lightning to 30-pin adapter cable and am back to using my old aux-in cable I used on my older iPhones (4S and older) with 30-pin connectors. I definitely notice audio degradation when I use this device via Bluetooth versus when I use my old 30-pin to aux in cable.
Bluetooth seems to sap the bass significantly and I have to turn up the car stereo more to account for loss of volume too. Bass is much fuller when I do audio via cable. I have no idea if this issue is solely due to this receiver or due to Bluetooth audio from the phone simply being worse, but in either case it is noticeable. …
