I purchased the Airport Express yesterday out of frustration with my 2008 router. It was always so complicated when I needed to reset the old one. The Airport was super easy to set up. I am in a two story home and the signal is strong everywhere. Needless to say this is a major upgrade and I'm happy.

I am starting to loose my patients with apple hardware and the constant dropping out from my wifi network. In the house we have an imac running off mountain lion, 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, 2 apple TVs (1x2nd gen 1x3rd gen) and I recently purchased an airport express. I have always had issues with my iMac dropping off the network which as you can imagine creates a problem with ATV and airplayit and servetome running on iPhones and iPads. Actually the iPhones and iPads seem to be the only devices that stay connected to the network. I have spent hours reading on forums about how to resolve the issue and have now become quite knowledged on router setting ip addresses,static ip addresses, ports etc, I am now in a situation where I have accepted that my iMac will not stay connected to the network through wifi and have fed a cable through the house to plug iMac straight into router however that doesn't doesn't stop airport express dropping off network. I have tried different routers with different settings and different networking options after hours of researching online. Apple products clearly have wifi issues that apple needed to sort out but they don't seem to care. Before you purchase ATV or AIrport express or if you are going to purchase an iMac that is going to need to use wifi, enter ' wifi problems with apple' into a search engine and just see the thousands of people with similar problems to myself. Sort it out Apple. Your hardware and software is great just sort the wifi issues out so everything just works without needing a degree in wifi networking. By the way as you can probably tell I decided to write this review after just realising my airport express had dropped off network again.

To all pc users stick to cheap unreliable pc world nonsense, to all MAC fans this product is for us, simply it works. If you purchase this item please make sure you have optic broadband to see the full potential if you use a simple BT type and your internet speed is 3meg or less don't bother to use it as a internet streaming device to your equipment, if its only to use for home sharing or access your iTunes then yes its great. The worlds easiest device to set up less than ten minutes to set up via Mac pc, iPod iPad iPhone and the airport utility for windows. Love this device apple do deliver all the time (except thunder bolt adapter, WHY change something that worked really well).
I install this equipment in clients homes who want a cheap reliable multi-room audio System and I have never had a complaint from clients, Altho they should incorporate video too that would be the best device in this current market. It will give all top manufactures of multi-room equipment for footballers homes a run for their money.

To the people who leave poor feedback on this device read the online instructions or if cant be bothered to read phone apple support. After all they do have the best of the best customer support.

This router is great for my home network, only took 10 min to set up and never had a fault. Great for streaming music from iTunes devices. Incredibly good range; my house has a brick wall through the centre and AirPort works perfectly through it. Well done Apple on a great Wireless Router

I buyed this 2 months ago, at an apple store in NY, to expand my wifi network , the router of my wifi network is the airport extreme. IT DOES NOT WORK , IT WORKS 20 MINUTES AND THEN STOPS WORKING FOR 10 MINUTES. sometimes doesnt even works. its very unstable. i mean it ! DONT BUY THIS.

I purchased this for its Airplay ability and it has not disappointed. Took no more than 10 minutes to set up (Including the unwrapping!). Airport Utility on my iPad made everything simple, only downside is that I now want more so I have wireless music all around the home.

Says it can connect with 50 devices without slowing down. My family barely has 10 connected to it and the connections are terrible and speeds are 10x slower than my previous router.

My old Express is 7 years old and needs to be reset constantly so I replaced it with a new one because I love airplay for music from my iphone, ipad, and macbook. I don't like that this doesn't just plug into the wall like the old one. On top of that the cord that comes with it is to short. I'm also getting a lot of interference with the remotes for my wii and now need to figure out a new solution for where everything is located.

I first used the Gen I Express to create a wifi network in my apartment while on vacation in Italy. The landlord was so impressed, the next year he put them in all the apartments.

I use a Gen II (hard-wired) to extend the wifi upstairs in my old house. This little gem is so, so versatile. Also, I use three of them (Gen I) around my house to connect my various stereo systems to Airplay. You don't need to buy an Airplay receiver, just slap one of these babies on with a Toslink or RCA cable and you're good to go.

The only thing I would like to see is for it to have Gigabit ethernet jacks for faster throughput. Otherwise, it's perfect!

Purchased this to extend range of my Apple Extreme base station. House is on three levels with Apple Extreme on top floor. Could not get signal to back rear of house nor to out side front. Installed this unit on lowest level. Now receive signal throughout house plus outside of home. No dead spots. Excellent signal strength. The bottom line with these devices is placement. If you wish to use to extend your signal you may have to try different locations. The other factor is the cable modem bringing the signal to the base station. Is it b/g or b/g/n? Finally, the setup to extend is extremely simple. Just be sure you have your passwords.
