This is one of the most beautifully designed and built products that I have ever seen in my life. The menu and center buttons are slightly concave and your fingers sit very nicely on them (seriously). The case is a single piece of aluminum (no seams except for the battery cover, buttons, and IR transmitter of course). Matches perfectly with the Mac computers’ latest designs. Simple and perfect.

To the point - the sharp metal edges do not feel good in my hands - the placement of the 'Menu' button is awkward - the 'wheel' around the 'select' button is hard to locate by touch alone - the battery cover on the back is a tactile distraction and is hard to 'close' - the metal finish gets clammy and damp from being held.

PUL-LEAZE - do something with the design of the Apple Remote - this metal thing is really not good - and I am a 1988-to-the-present SUPER APPLE FAN - There's almost nothing to complain about regarding Apple designs - but this one is TERRIBLE!

Does everything great and it has a long IR (Infer Red) reception. It is also a great price for what you get. If u like music on your mac, then iWould buy this thing.

i got one of these little guys and i loved it so much i bought 8 more for my other macs, ipods, apple tv's ect...

I have several of the previous model remotes. This is a much welcomed change to match the rest of the Apple line.

The new Apple remote is a great upgrade to the previous generation. It feels great in your hand (much more refined and comfortable) and really compliments my Aluminium MacBook Pro, Wired Keyboard and Magic Mouse.

I am disappointed the wheel isn't an iPod scroll as I was led to believe by not one but two Apple Store online reps - however for £15 this is a no brainer purchase for any owner of an Apple product that supports IR.

One word of caution - "sock it" or keeps it in the case as if you slap it in your Laptop bag it may scratch the contents - especially your iPod screens.

4 Star rating due to my two misleading conversations with the normally well versed and knowledgeable store staff. Cool product tho!

Whenever I use my remote that came with my apple TV, it also messes with my Mac, and I can't fix it.

I ordered this remote with my MacBook Air, it came in before the MacBook. The 1st thing that impressed me was how thin the remote was, 2nd was i figured I would have to set it up with my computers but much to my surprise I did not. I accidentally hit a button and my iMac came on and my jaw dropped. Another thing i was worried about was it would only be compatible with one mac but no it works with both of my computers and i can mess with my friends by turning their music on in class! For $19 you can't go wrong.

Looks very pretty, but the instructions are worse than useless - no indication of how to use it for anything other than iTunes and i everything else. I bought it to use for Powerpoint presentations. There must be a way, but Apple isn't saying and there doesn't seem to be an online manual or online info I can find...
