256gb vs 512gb for student and gamer
I'm a high school student looking to buy a 15" rMBP for use throughout the last half of high school and all of college. I would use the laptop to play video games occasionally but I don't plan on having too many downloaded at once. Also I download a little music, but I never download movies or tv shows. I still can't decide whether 256gb will be a large enough hard drive or if I should upgrade it to 512gb. Please help?

So I am looking at getting the MBP in June and I want to use it for light gaming, i.e. battlefield 3 and or crisis 2,or 3.
Hey apple lovers, I am looking to get a MBP this summer but I want to know what I should get. As I said earlier I want to do some light gaming. I really don't think I need the high graphics but I also don't want to get an underpowered system. I am looking at the MBP 13in 2012, with a 500gb hard drive and 8gigs of ram. Think that would be enough? THANKS!!!

Which mac would you suggest i buy?
So my PC is on its way out and it seems logical to switch over to mac. This means i'll be using it for everything; that is, browsing online and streaming, listening to the 60gb of music i have, occasionally movies, and writing etc. but also I will need it for high powered things such as Photoshop, Illustrator and Final Cut Pro. The obvious thing i guess would be the 27" 3.2ghz for optimum power, but i also like the idea of a macbook to take it about with me. I might be willing to splash out on the 27", but would anyone recommend anything else? I wouldn't really play games, but I often have pro creative software.

AnswerYes, the new macbook pro would be excellent, however, if you are just doing data entry/ accounting (namely text based stuff), the macbook air is a lighter, cheaper option that will be plenty fast and powerful for your needs.

Target Display Mode?
Hello all,
Ok so here's my situation. I have a mid 2010 iMac and a 2008 Mac Pro tower that I recently acquired in a trade for my older Macbook Pro.
I'd like to upgrade the Mac Pro with a wicked graphics card so I can game using bootcamp, and use my iMac for work and OS stuff and be able to switch between the two only using a single screen.
I know that my iMac is the model that has the target display mode, but I'm worried that this card (Radeon HD 5770) won't be compatible with target display mode.
Can anyone confirm or clarify this for me? Or suggest a card that does work?
Thanks!- Asked by Ryan L from Kelowna

- Asked about: ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade…
AnswerGreetings,
I have a 2008 Mac Pro 3,1 Tower with the ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit for Mac Pro. Currently I'm running two full HD monitors off this one card and have not had a problem.
I don't have an iMac so I can't test it out for you, but from what I've gleaned from the net, it should not be a problem.
Do a Google search for "Target Display Mode". Find the link for an article on this subject by Tom Nelson.
Indications are that all is needed for your iMac to work in Target Display Mode is a video signal at your Thunderbolt port or DisplayPort, or you can select Target Display Mode manually by using Command F2.
The ATI Radeon HD 5770 card is equipped with 2 DisplayPorts and 1 DVI port.
All you need is the proper cable. Apple now sell a shorter 50cm version.
Regardless, the ATI Radeon HD 5770 Graphics Upgrade Kit is a good buy and is compatible with all the latest and greatest software.
Cheers

Macbook Air 11" 2012 4GB vs 8GB?
I want to get a macbook air for university but I dont know if it'a worth it to upgrade the 11" to 8 GB of RAM or to just keep it at 4GB?

Best AnswerIt depends on how you will use your machine, and what apps you use regularly. If you use apps such as Photoshop, then more RAM will make a difference. Or, if you like to run many apps at one time, or have lots of tabs open in your browser.
Some other pros and cons consider: You can't upgrade it later--never. If you intend to resell it, you probably won't get the money back out of the upgrade. If you keep it a "long" time, you will want more RAM as apps develop and require more.
Personally, I have never regretted having more RAM.- Answered by Jon M from Clarkesville

Should i buy a mac? Which Mac?
Hi! I´m a huge fan of mac but i don't own one and i want to change that. I wanna use photoshop and other graphic programs but i'm going to the university in 5 years, yes and i want to buy a machine which helps me on that work. I want to be a programmer and i don't know if mac suits me. And if it does which? Another thing i want to mention is that i will only buy a mac when i have the money, and i can't work yet so i think it will be in 5 years from now. Do you recommend a mac? Which?
ps:
sorry for the bad english;
i want my mac to have an i7 quad core, 16 gb ram, 1tb fusion drive or more and i can only spend at the maximum of the maximum 2.800,99 €. I think the iMac of 27 inches is a little too big for me.- Asked by Curly P
