Portable music players do not have the output power (watts) to directly drive car speakers. iPods have USB-2 and headphone outputs, that are compatible with car stereos equipped generic or "iPod compatible" inputs. Car stereos built before 2004 probably do not have external inputs If your stereo does not have an external input, electronics stores offer small radio transmitters that connect to your music player or iPod and transmit your music to the car's FM radio.

No. Any Apple Retail Store or AppleCare technical support will be able to pull up the purchase date of your device just by using your device's serial number. However, if you purchased the device from a 3rd party retailer (anywhere other than an Apple Store), then keep your receipt in case they need to verify the purchase date.

Not necessarily. It depends on which iHome you have. If you have an older iHome dock that has a 30-pin dock connector, that you will have to separately purchase the 30-pin to 8-pin connector to make your iHome compatible with the new iPod Nano.

The iPod Touch 5 has 8 hours of battery life when playing games. That is fairly good battery life. If you are planning to use it mainly at home, it is great. If you are going on a long road trip and are planning to play it the whole time, you will need it at its maximum battery.
