Is the superdrive what i need to use my Rosetta Stonesoftware and to install printer access software on my new airbook?

if your software is provided to you on a CD/DVD ROM, then yes, this is what you need to install it.
you do not need this to install printer drivers as the drivers for your printer, if it's Mac compatible, are available via Software Update if you have an internet connection.

Yes... and watch your DVD movies and import your music CD's into iTunes, etc.
