Does iWork 09 work on LION?

With the new update of Lion, will this version of iWork operate on the new OS or should I wait for an update before upgrading to Lion?

Yes, iWork '09 should actually work in Lion, as Apple has released at the same time of the launch of Lion an update that makes all iWork '09 apps work with Lion functionalities, such as full screen and the resume function.

  • Yes and it supports all the new lion features, such as versions and fullscreen, if you update to lion and then update iWork from Lion.

  • I have just installed Lion and now iWork crashes. I guess I will try re-installing it, but be careful!

  • Check the Apple support forums. The versioning and autosave features in Lion wreak havoc in Keynote. Five minutes of spinning beach balls while your Keynote presentation saves. One longish thread recommends rolling back Keynote to the Snow Leopard version. But it's an involved process because you must completely uninstall the Lion version of Keynote.

  • I have tried to get it to work, but it does not seem to - I keep getting a message about this version not working with Lion. So - if you do a lot of work in iWork, you might consider delaying. Lion, for all its good things, still breaks lots of other things that used to work. The software developers have not caught up with Lion just yet -- maybe by this summer.
