Does iPad work with AirTunes via AirPort Express?
I have an AirPort Express connected to my Bang & Olufsen system. Works in conjunction with my iMac, MacBook Pro and AppleTV. Will it work in conjunction with my iPad?

Although the capability is not available at this time, the iOS 4.2 Software Update for the iPad, among other features, will allow you to "[w]irelessly stream videos, music, and photos from iPad to the new Apple TV, and stream music to AirPlay speakers or receivers, including AirPort Express." This software update, according to Apple, should be released some time in November.

Soon!!! Coming out Nov. 2010 the new 4.2 iOS for iPads, iPhone, and The iPod Touch will have AirPlay®. You will be streaming iTunes to that B&O system like a mad man.

I know that the iPad can certainly run the Remote app to control iTunes on your Mac on the same WiFi network, but I'm not sure if the iPad can stream music directly to the AirTunes speakers.
I'd like to see Apple address this directly.- Answered by Jaryd M from Puyallup

Yes,..If i understand your question,... I have an airport express running AirTunes to my loft powered speakers from my iTunes library on my iMac in office. I control the iTunes library with my new iPad and the remote application. FYI, this is a general application not specific for iPad or native iPad resolution. Meaning the graphics are not as good as they could be when using the 2x mode, but it's still great being able to select and use my entire iTunes library wirelessly with my iPad.
