Can this save an exact copy of my macbook pro?

I want something that I can use to sync to my macbook pro to keep an exact copy of my computer. So in case my laptop is ever lost, stolen, or damaged I can connect a new computer to this and have everything on my old computer back. Can the Time Capsule do this?

Yes - but a better method is to use Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper to an external drive to get a bootable exact copy of your Harddrive. The Timemachine/timecapsule method is not bootable and is really for incremental snap shots of your HDD though you can do a full restore of your full system with TM/TC. I use both TM/TC and CCC. I find CCC backups my HDD really fast (10 mins) but TM/TC is really fickle - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't and tries again. Sometimes it takes forever. Sometimes the backup gets corrupted. Sometimes TM/TC stops me from shutting down my MBP or even logging out very slowly till it finishes. I have spent half my life trying to get TM/TC to work - CCC took about 5 minutes and it always works - fab,
