Macbook Air (High end) 13 inch vs the Macbook Pro 13 inch (Base) or wait for the 15 inch Macbook Air

I want to decide if I should buy a MBA 13" High end or a Macbook Pro 13" Base, seeing it from the performance view, will the MBA give as much (or even better) performance as the MBP? Or do you think I should wait for the release of the MBA 15" that will definitely be better than the MBP 13" Base model. I don't want to have the MBP 15" bc of the weight and form factor, also I like the MBA design. I won't be needing the super drive, I don't know if it helps make the right choice. Money it's not a problem, but I don't want to waste more than 1800 $ which is the cost of the high end MBA (With an I7 processor).
