Yes, the normal Macbook can burn DVDs. The Macbook Air does not have a DVD drive, but you can connect a USB DVD burner. You might need an AC adapter for your USB DVD burner, depending on how much power the DVD burner uses and how much your computer can supply. If you need to use the one USB port for something else at the same time, you can use a USB hub.
