YES, I use a Home PC running Vista, with all my data stored on 2 1TB Western Digital HDDs and the Mac connects very easily and quickly to the network and I can map it to any drive I want. Just about all file types open fine on the Macbook Pro running Lion OS X and Mac version of the various software (.jpgs, MP4 and other video files, Microsoft files {I have installed Mac version of Office} and just about all others I want). I have not as yet worked out how to read the files the other way though (Off of Mac from the PC), however I am sure it is possible.

yes....and you can have linux OS, iOS (ie iphone/ipad), Android OS, etc on the same network. basically, a wireless network is not dependent on an operating system.
