Yes you can. Firstly, the speakers would need to be powered (by an amplifier) based on the input connectors on this amplifier, you would need a cable to connect from the line out jack on the back of the iMac to one of the inputs on the amplifier.
The line out jack on the iMac is a 3.5mm stereo jack, the inputs on the amplifier could be phono (red & white plugs) for example meaning you would need a 3.5mm to Phono cable.- Answered by Michael B
