Switching Carrier With Family Plan In-Store

I'm looking at jumping carriers when the iPhone hits the Apple Retail Stores on the 21st. Does anyone know if the staff is able to perform a carrier switch on a family plan in-store? I tried placing the order on the site and it says it couldn't complete the order and try instead at the retail store.
