      A night at the opra!

      Where do I start, Logic is pure logic. What I mean is that the new new logic studio was incredibly well engineered, much less bugy than the previous version. Compatibility has been greatly increased and again, this new version manages better the resources of my system, meaning that it runs much faster. I really like the new features added in main stage, especially the multimapping of controls. What is most impressive is the price for which apple sells the product. Compared to other audio editing software, this one dominates the competition. Thanks apple. …More

      I have been recording for about 15+ years and was patiently awaiting for this version of Logic to arrive. I know apple has been scrambling to get closer to what digidesign's Pro-Tools can do and all I have to say is WOW!!! The upgrade install time was way fast; unlike waiting 4 hours for Logic Studio 8 to install. They've included everything you need to get a professional sounding song right out of the box and killed a lot of plug-in competitors along the way. The amp designer rivals that of Ik Multimedia's Amplitube series. The flex tool....WOW!!! No more scissor tool for this guy. Drum replacer....SICK!!! You don't even need third party plug-ins i.e. Drumtracker from Toontrack to get midi conversion of audio files. This is by far a warm welcome for me and did I mention you can easily... and I do mean easily import your channel strip settings from other projects? Don't hesitate and wait to get this if you are serious about recording. This is the hottest thing out right now and I can't imagine anything being better than this with out waiting another year or two. Pro-Tools 8 just plain stinks against Logic 9. Midi recording is superior in Logic and the sound libraries are HUGE!!! I will never step back to the dark side of Pro-Tools again. Way to go LOGIC 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! …More

      This is a massive leap forward for Logic. Yes the amp modelling is spectacular, yes the new editing facilities are great but what really makes the difference for me is the soundstage and stereo representation. The reverbs now really do their job, in fact all of the logic plug ins sound great on my rig and the potential of Logic 9 is scary once the full 64 bit OS comes into play.
      I stood by Logic when everyone else was buying into Pro tools.
      I feel like i just won the lottery.

      So I have came from using a PC and a number of other DAW's to using a Mac. First thing, Logic is awesome. Yes others have more shiny new stuff but I have not had one problem with logic and it sounds great straight out of the box. It may be in need of some TLC from Apple with a new update just to keep things fresh but I cant complain about anything else. …More

      Logic used to be outstanding!!

      I have used Logic pro for just over five years! The software has continued to deteriorate over this time with minor bugs becoming major bugs! Even after supposed update fixes the software performs badly, it currently hardly performs at all on Mountain LIon.

      Apple seriously need to address this as i have lost all confidence in the product and I am now looking to change DAW.

      What The Pro's Use To Make Music

      This is what the modern producer uses in he Professional studio. Logic Pro is used every day by the biggest producers in music. working in a Professional Studio I hook up mac book pro's running Logic up to producer's UAD Apollos or apogee ensembles etc. they basically use the million dollar rooms to critically listen, while they make a 16 or 32 bar section of a song and they all use Logic because it is so simple to and intuitive, comes with incredible stock synths and samples.

      Once they finish tracking we run each track through the outs of their convertors, through our analog gear for depth, color & to help create that large sound that only analog gear can produce. from there its into our Black Lion Audio upgraded 192's, clocked with Antelope Audio's Isochrone Trinity and finally into Pro Tools HD where it is processed and Mixed along with vocals, gtrs, etc. to create a finished mix before being sent to the mastering engineer.

      you may ask why I explain the whole process and don't spend a large % bragging about just Logic. (Which is an amazing tool, don't get me wrong)

      Logic is great at getting ideas out fast, easily and hassle free. it is not however the only tool you will need to create a hit record. I would not recommend it as a stand alone tool because of the inherent sterile sound of the mixer built into the program, the editing capabilities are lacking, there are also head room issues.
      past this if you are looking at Logic for a sampler/synth. there is nothing better and this is why it deserves 5 stars.       …More
