    Earpods Work Great!

    • Written by from Indianapolis

Mine went through the wash in the pocket of my school skirt, and they still work! And now they're clean, too. I know guys in my grade who buy Beats and they break within a week. I've had the Earpods for two months (which WENT THROUGH THE WASH) and they still work. Even the actual silver part is slightly crooked and they still work. The sound quality is good, they're super portable, and I love the remote. I recommend these!

Comparable to more expensive products and lasts under regular use for years

    • Written by from Tulsa

Around three years ago near the original launch, I bought a pair for use with my iPhone 4. Immediately noticed the difference in sound quality back then; difference was like night and day, between the previous model of Apple earphones. Since then, I've had experience with other products. I think the Apple Earpods are some of the best out there, especially for the price. The audio is accurate and the bass surprises.

WIth regular, reasonable usage (i.e., not catching your devices by the cord or tossing them into the bottom of your bag) these should last as long as you need them to. You don't ever have to clean them; they dirty only very slightly over time. You don't really need the case, either. I actually used my pair practically every day until I sold them yesterday, for $15, and am about to open the pair that came with my 5s.

Great Improvment, here are some pros and cons...

    • Written by from Edgerton

Been using iDevices since the original iPod. And for a long time the headphones that came with the devices where complete junk.

The remote on the iTouch headphones were a great improvement. And now with my new iPhone 6 they are actually a joy to use! Still the audio suffers due to the fact that they are earbuds, I listen with my PX360 Mixing headphones normally, so I can tell the difference in audio quality.

Let me tell you the pros and cons of these headphones.
    Pros:
    1. Light, easy on the ears, don't pull bad.
    2. Fits Adults and Older Teens well.
    3. Great bass range.
    4. Great mic and controls. In a great place, easy to get to them.

    Cons!:
    1. They are $30... This is a little pricy for earbuds. I feel its worth it for what you get.
    2. They don't fit Kids/Small/Young teens ears well. Some might say it actually hurts to try using.
    3. The range is focused on bass, that being said, Highs and even Mids suffer badly. NOT TRUE AUDIO REPRODUCTION. Don't use for professorship mixing or music training.
    4. The insulation is still that rubbery type that apple clings to so much, so that it might crumble or break if you don't take care of them.

This is just my experience, trying to stay true and not present to much favoritism to apple, it's just hard not to.

    Awesome Ear Pods

    • Written by from Santee

Recently I began checking out new ear buds. After buying and returning several very expensive brands I found that the Apple Ear Pods were far superior to even the $100 plus ear phones. Nice job Apple.

I prefer these over my Expensive ones

    • Written by from Clawson

I own Bose Mie2i's and Ultimate Ears 600vi's. While I like those two a fair amount I actually prefer to use my Apple Earphones 90% of the time. I find them to be perfectly balanced, very clear and pleasant to listen to without getting fatigued. My Bose are nice but too bass heavy. The UE are very clear but zero lows and their flat EQ just feels so bland. Overall I find my Apple ones to be the best balance.
I love the amount of artistic design put into these as well, they are gorgeous, came packaged in a very handsome case and they look and function very nicely. The reason I continue to stay with Apple (just got my 6 today) is because of polish and attention to detail such as these.

    Simply 5*

50 times better than the old apple headphones, fit better, sound better, better in every way (except collecting ear wax D: a quick clean and wipe fixed though). the wire is very strong. i have a 2 year old set of these that i chewed where the two wires joined to make one and after i accidentally went to sleep on them and got them rapped around my waist, the plastic rubber wire is coming off the join. but i chewed it anyway, it is still very strong and hasn't effected performance. also mine seem to be waterproof. :)

The music plays great on it than just hearing it on the speakers of an technoligy. This also work eventhough you acciedently forgot to take it out from the pocket and went through heavy washing and drying. I recommend this as an cheaper and for protective and great sound earpods.

These earpods have great sound and are very durable. My mom put them through the washer and dryer and they still work! It seems the only way they break is if they are run over by a car, which has happened to me.

    Lasted me over a year Oct 2013 - Dec 11th, 2014

    • Written by from Columbus

These EarPods are amazing, they lasted me 1 year and they were preowned, so I don't know how long they were purchased before I got them. Sound quality is amazing and they're durable. I've had my times of accidentally yanking the cord and out of my ears. Tip to make them last longer:
When you go to store them until your next use you should do the following:
    1) Take both ends of the head phones and hold them together in one hand
    2) Grab the bottom of the loop, bring them up, and hold them
    3) Continue to fold to desired length making sure you're following the natural shape of the cords, don't force bending
    4) Store in desired area
    5) To prevent tangling you can use a twist tie or rubber band to secure them

    Awesome

    • Written by from New York

For their price, they really are the best in the market, at least for me. The previous headphones were also awesome, one lasted me two years but then I lost it, and then I got the 5s and I lost those too! The price raise isn't cool, like just because they're a different style doesn't mean that the price should be different too, but they are worth it.

Here's a trick that makes them sound even better!

    • Written by from Grand Rapids

If you press on the back of these EarPods while they're in your ear, you'll notice a definite improvement in the sound quality. I took a pair of foam earplugs I got on a recent flight, inserted them behind the pods, and SHAZAM!!! Great sound! They stay very securely in my ear, help to lessen outside noises, and are a LOT more comfortable than the earbuds with sound mufflers that fit way down in the ear canal.

    Not your typical bundled headphones!

    • Written by from Red Deer

I've used the typical Sonys for years for my mobile devices and they are great workhorses. Pretty much any bundled earbuds seem sad in comparison. With this in mind I just tried these ones with my new iPhone 6 and WOW.... As a fan of in-ear monitors I expected this ducted design to have some impact on the sound but this really is between earbuds and IEMs! Rich bass and full sound across the rest of the spectrum yet they're comfortable and easy to insert and remove. If you already know the clicking protocol from older remote headphones, these also support it so you can FF, REW and skip tracks forward and back with the right number of clicks of the play button. As soon as I tried these I had to come here to see how much they would cost since I'll be getting more as soon as these ones wear out!

    Haven't found anything better

    • Written by from Little Rock

Sound quality & comfort of earbuds are very personal & subjective things. That said, I've tried Klipsch, Bose, & Harmon Kardon earbuds that cost $100-$150. I listen to rock, pop, blues, & some jazz. I am a hobbyist musician & consider myself to have a pretty discerning ear. In the under $200 price range, I have not found any ear buds with better overall sound quality or comfort. I have not tried custom fit earbuds (that usually cost over $400) so I can not comment any any comparison to that category of earbuds. EarPods produce deep, rich, balanced sound & stay in my ear without causing discomfort. Unless you're looking for over the ear, true noise canceling headphones, for $29 (or free with your new iPhone) these are pretty much all you need.

For £25, it's thoroughly worth it.

    • Written by from Cheltenham

I bought these over a year ago, not long after they were announced with the iPhone 5. I asked my local Apple distributer if I could try them since I wanted a good pair of headphones. When I put them in, I was surprised at how well the fit my ears, they didn't hurt after a while as other pairs do and my lord, the sound was something I hadn't heard from a pair of stock headphones. I tried the in-ear buds which were much more expensive a year before and not only did they not fit my ears and feel awkward, to me they sounded tinny and awful, but with these it was like night and day. The clarity is brilliant with great mids and lows and music sounds fantastic on them. I'm sure there are better sounding headphone buds but for £25, just even for apple branded devices, I don't see how you'd complain.

Also, whilst the cables have slowly became more dirty over the year, I have never had them tangle and knot so badly I spent more than a minute unravelling them. Neither buds have worn or broken and it's all in great order. Whilst designed for Apple devices, be assured, these work with many many many more devices as it's almost a standard interface. Personally I use them on my PCs and my Samsung Galaxy S2 and they work flawlessly and sound just as good on anything I use with them. I honestly recommend these to any person looking for decent headphones, even non-Apple lovers.

As the title says, for £25, I can't see how you can go wrong.

Practical, efficient, and forgiving. SURVIVED WASHING MACHINE AND DRYER.

    • Written by from Central Point

Firstly, I'd like to say that I love the remote feature. I know it sounds like a first-world thing to say, but it truly is a wonderful convenience to have that, especially while I'm running.

However, the reason I came to write this review is has nothing to do with the remote. Here's the story: so I'm studying in college in Hungary, and it's much more of an expense and hassle to buy these here than in the States. One fine morning I realized that it was laundry sign-up day and my clothes were way overdue. Naturally, I dumped everything in the basket labelled with name, paid, and forgot about it. That night, I retrieved my neatly folded clothes and left them next to my bed. When I grabbed my favorite sweatshirt at 3:30 the next morning, I noticed a crackle in my pocket. It was one of the papers I had so foolishly written in pencil on actual paper. Washed and dried. As I began searching through the rest of my clothes, I found that I had washed and dried THE REST OF THE SEMESTER'S WORTH OF HOMEWORK. All of it. No biggie, right? The semester was half over and I was ahead. It would be easy to redo. So I set that problem aside to go on my 4:00 am run.

My earphones were not where I thought I left them.

It was dark, though, and my roommates were sleeping so I couldn't perform a thorough search. So I settled for my backup pair of Sony earphones with only one working earbud. There was a lump in the small, upper-arm pocket of my running jacket. After my run, I investigated. IN WAS MY PAIR OF APPLE EARPODS. Washed and tumble dried low.

For the next four weeks, I relied on my half-operational Sony earbud. At last, during a scheduled dorm cleaning, I decided it was high time to get closure and throw away my favorite pair of Apple earphones. But first, I plugged them into my iPhone and hit play to Coldplay's "Viva La Vida."

They crackled once, then played the ringing notes with full sharpness and clarity of sound.

These EarPods survived the trauma of Hungarian a washer machine, iron-rich water, and a (slightly inadequate) dryer machine.

I still need to rewrite all my papers, but once I sat down, I felt that it would not be just to postpone writing this review any longer. So as I go back to my papers, I just want to say: these EarPods are awesome.
