    Works Flawlessly

    • Written by from La Puente

I think those that say "nothing happens" are unaware that you have to go into your photos and press the "import" button. Nothing pops up when you insert the SD card. I use mine with a iPad Mini Retina and a 64gb SanDisk with no issues. I even move the entire DCIM folder from my cf cards to the SD card and am able to import images from my DSLR. The ONLY wish item I have is that this would work on the iPhone as well. Other than that no issues.

Put SD card in reader. Plug lightning into ipad. Reader launches the ipad photos app. Voila! Exactly what I wanted. Couldn't have been easier.

I needed a device to store photos so I went out today & bought the iPad mini & this little guy. I almost didn't buy an iPad cause I was worried about being able to transfer pics easily. I was still hesitant after seeing the reviews, but thought/hoped I could figure it out. This was incredibly easy to use. Popped the SD card out of my camera & into the SD Reader & the iPad basically did everything else. Great product, very easy to use!!

    Great bit of kit

    • Written by from Seaham

Was rather apprehensive when I read that more people said it didn't work than said it did....was brave and bought an original from an Apple store...fantastic bit of kit...loads instantly and then there's the option to chose which to import....carry it with the camera kit so can view my shots and more importantly make tweaks to the camera settings...recommend this ++++

Works perfectly with the ipad air. No problems at all.

Works great, if you know how to use it properly:)

All you have to do is plug it in then open the photos app and BAM! All my extremely high quality photos are there, ready to be posted. Some people think that plugging it in will take you to the photos, but that's not true. You plug it in, open photos, notice at the icons on the bottom an extra one you don't normally see and tap it, then you can import or delete photos. Easy as pie.

    Perfect Ten

    • Written by from Wauwatosa

After reading all the reviews I was paranoid about this. So I went to store, got one, and connected to my iPad Air. It worked perfectly!

I tried three different cameras, nikon L24. P90, D3200 with my iPad Air 32 GB . Normal photographs and movies on 8GB. 16GB, and 32GB. Imported in 1 to 2 seconds. All SD cards were Sandisk, ranging from 8 to 32GB, not cheap knock offs. Special thanks to Debbie at the Milwaukee Mayfair store for being so helpful! :>

I was very hesitant about buying this after reading many reviews stating this does not work. I decided to take a chance. It works fine with my new ipad air and the pic transfers were instant. Just plug in and go. Some of these reviews mention plugging it into a camera.? If thats what you wish to achieve then it would not work. This is an SD card reader as far as I am aware. If it's supposed to do anything else then maybe it doesn't work. But it does read my SD card! That's all I can report, really :)

    Works with iOS7 fine

    • Written by from AMMANFORD

I have ordered a couple of these off eBay and they claimed to be Genuine Apple. But none of them worked. However - the real deal did work - and although I think the price is a bit steep, I can now take my iPad with my camera and download (or is it upload) pics from the SD card, meaning I have an instant back up and large viewing / editing screen using the iPad.

In reality I spent 2/3 of the price on cheaper ones that didn't work - should have known better. Hope this review saves you money.

    Great product

    • Written by from Nottingham

Me and my dad bought this for our upcoming trip to India so we can back up our photos and so we tested it with our SD card and it works perfectly. It takes a while to load the photos if you have a lot on the card already but that's expected. This is a great idea and we cant wait to use it. We found that it works best with SD cards that have the DCIM folder which is created when our camera stores a photo to the card.

    Works like a boss.

    • Written by from Swansea

I purchased this with the intention of transferring photos and videos from my camera to my iPad. Plugged in it and it all works, like a boss. Despite the fact £25 is a pretty steep price tag, it does what it says on the tin. Can't go wrong.

Really good product, put in my SD card from canon 1100d and photos come up in 5 secs,
Then it gives you the option to import.

    10/10 well worth the money

Great When You Can Get It To Work!

    • Written by from STOCKPORT

Pictures on SD card, SD card in adapter, adapter into iPad. Nothing.

Long story short, the pictures HAVE to be in a DCIM folder for the iPad to see them, otherwise nothing shows.

This is NOT documented anywhere as far as I can see which is not helpful Apple....

    Worked beautifully for my uses

    • Written by from Norwalk

Used this to transfer photos from 3 of my cameras:
    GoPro HD Hero 3+
    Canon 5D Classic
    Sony Nex 6

All of my memory cards are 32GB and smaller

was able to upload photos from my gopro (uses mirco SD) with an SD adaptor. This worked wondefully, was able to see full res videos after transferring.

Worked fine with pictures shot in RAW and JPEG on my 5D classic (uses CF but have SD to CF adaptor). In iPhoto it recognizes that it is a raw image, but I am not sure if it converts to JPEG or reduces the size of the photo. I will compare file size compared on my computer vs iPad.

nex 6 worked fine, no issues std SD usage.

A little bit pricey but it worked well. If you don't want to wait for the import window to appear, open up pictures, and the import icon should show at the bottom in a few seconds or less.

Does exactly what it says. Mega happy

    • Written by from Northampton

Item works exactly as described on my ipad mini (non retina)
Feels good quality, no set up needed just plug in and play. Personally I prefer the sd card reader over the USB camera as with some cameras the ipad need an extra adapter to accept the USB if it's a powerful item.

I personally don't think £25 is over priced for a good solid quality item.

My only advise is make sure you have a fast sd memory card ideally minimum class 10 (reasonable cheap now a days) it just makes uploading photos extra smooth and fast.

Also don't delete the pictures from the sd card from the ipad because you will them have to format the card on your camera (apparently from what I read online)

    Enjoy :)

Works just as I wanted once I got the right SD card

    • Written by from Werribee

I had a similar problem to other reviewers when I first attempted to read from a SD card. I tried a few cards and none worked. I then tried my Lexar 16GB 16G Professional pro SDHC SD Card 400x and it worked perfectly. The photos from the card popped up straight away under a camera tab and were easily imported. Very happy with this product and it will make travelling so much easier.

    Works Perfectly

I have the same card reader for my Ipad 3 with the old connector, but needed the new lightning connector for my Ipad mini. This works perfectly and exactly like the other one. You plug it into the ipad, insert the card and it uploads onto iphoto. No problem, no delay. I have no idea how anyone found this difficult or challending. A great purchase.

I love this thing, because I still use my camera a lot. My phone just doesn't have the zoom capability. I upload the pics to my iPad to show others and share. It's great.
