can I use it to extend my current wireless network?

I have wireless already and basically just want to extend it to a remote area of my home. Will this work or is the "express" the better option?

Yes, you can use the AirPort Extreme to extend your current wireless network. This can be done in one of three ways.

    1. You can connect the AirPort Extreme to your existing router using an ethernet cable and have the wireless settings on the AirPort Extreme the same as your existing router.

    2. You can 'extend' the AirPort Extreme from your existing router, this may not work with all other routers, but if your existing router is also and AirPort, it will.

    3. You can 'join' the AirPort Extreme to your existing router, as far as I'm aware, this will also work.

Note that I've only ever used the first way here, so I'm not 100% sure how effective the other two are.
