    Awesome Headphones!!! 1 HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT

First of all I have to say that these headphones are simply spectacular!
My B&O earphones just broke & I wanted to give headphones a try, but their H6's won't be out until June/July in HK.
    SOUND-
In my opinion these have strong basses, mids & highs-for USD$299.95). Very natural clarity along with outstanding R/L stereo, if you like the signature crisp B&W sound you'll love these.
    BUILD-
Love the New Zealand sheep's skin leather, very comfy! But they feel like they could get dirty too easily...I got them in Ivory. Not a single component of plastic on them which makes it feel even more luxurious & sturdy. Removal ear cups & cable, beautiful travel pouch included!!!
    DISAPPOINTMENTS-
I got them in Ivory "white", & even right out of the box they have this dirty white appearance to them.. I was hoping for a brighter complexion. The texture of the leather feels dusty too, I got them at Apple so I'm deciding if I should swap them in for the black ones.

Overall a great product (apart from the "Ivory" colored leather, which is partly my problem since chose the color) I think I got everything I paid for in these headphone!

Great build quality as well as sound quality. Unlike headphones from it's competitors (eg. Bose), these headphones feel like they cost $300. You definitely get what you pay for. They also come with a very nice, soft travel case.

I can't fault the quality of these headphones, the overall build and sound quality is excellent
The only downfall to the headphones are being leather this can become uncomfortable on the ears after long periods of time but this is nothing major.
Overall a joy to use and well worth the price

It's hard to find the words that would describe how good these headphones are. They are simply exquisite. The quality of the sound is astonishing. When I listen to music with these, I can hear notes and details I have never heard before. But most importantly these headphones can deliver the same sound quality in every situation. It doesn't matter if there is a lot of background noise, I can easily hear every single nuance of music. Also they stay on head no matter what I do. I can longboard in peace when I don't have to worry about my headphones slipping or dropping.

To be more precise, if you like Beats, the P5's are not made for you. P5's don't have the same overly heavy bass sound that makes everything sound muddy. The P5's sound light and deep. They will deliver excellent lows, but the bass doesn't suppress other sounds at all. Also P5's have a lot clearer and sharper highs and mids. I think that P5's beat Beats in every way (no pun intended).

Then there is the looks. Instead of trying to look as modern as possible, P5's are made to look as good as possible. I know that everyone doesn't fancy the retro look of these, but I love it. These headphones look like jewelry when I wear a suit. P5's are like original Wayfarers, they look good with anything, and they will turn heads.

Shortly, P5's will make you feel exquisite, as they sound exquisite and look exquisite. They are headphones for real music enthusiasts who want quality while on the move.

Best headphones I have ever bought

I've always been a fan of Bose headphones but these are much better. The sound of the Bose is boosted and manipulated making it sound artificial. With these, the sound has not been altered at all. Bass is perfect, not too little, not too much. Sound quality is impeccable. And compared to the Bose, the Bowers and Wilkins will last much longer since they are made of metal and leather compared to Bose's flimsy plastic and artificial leather. They are worth every penny.

I have to say that P5 is the best MOBILE headphones that I have ever owned.
I have owned the Beats_Studio headphones and they are not comparable to P5 at any stage (I know someone would argue me this with the heavy bass from the Beats).
I also have the V-moda Crossfade LP and Boss QC15.
First, the sound on P5 is just beautiful and clear. It is crystal clear especially when the audio files are compressed above 256kbps (mine are all 320kbps).
Second, the weight is just perfect and it does not require a battery. On the other hand, Beats-Studio and Boss QC15 are a little bit heavier than the P5, especially the Beats.
Third, the craftsman, it is made of Calf. leather and metal. Also, it is easy to replace the cable and the ear cups.
Last but not the least, the brand, it is a legendary brand in making hi-end hi-fi audio boxes. I don't need to say much about the brand b/c it's out there, you can google it.
The only disadvantage that P5 has, if I must pick up some cons, is the level of noise-cancelation. P5 is not doing the same function very well as Boss QC15 does, but the level of noise P5 cancels is quite sufficient.
All in all, I am very pleased of the purchase, and in fact, I did do a lot of research on the P5 before I purchased, including the experiment of owning the other three headphones, I just have to say that P5 is the best MOBILE headphones out there.

After 6 months of deliberation I finally took the plunge!!. I was already a devotee of B & W as a Zepellin user, and was not disappointed. Firstly the design is a class leader, and comfortable. A little tight but no doubt the set will loosen up with up with time. The sound quality is exceptional with any music I have loaded, mainly Smooth Jazz, R&B and limited Blues. Bass and treble are so well balanced with both excelling dependent upon the recording. I would guess that if you are a big bass fan then the P5 may need more research. I actually upgraded from a base set of Bose which were excellent however the difference is staggering. Ok you would expect it to be with a big cost differential. But the difference is worth every pound. At least try 'In Store' and in my opinion 'Sound Cancelling' is great if it suits you but does negate the sound quality a little

Had these for a week so far and I have only good things to say about them. I was cautious about buying such an expensive item but once you see them you realise why they cost that much. Build quality is amazing and boy do they look good. My regular set of cans used to be a pair of Bose AE2i's which are great however where I live it gets pretty hot and being over ear headphones they would make my ears sweat a lot. With the P5's being on ear headphones my ears stay a lot cooler. I'm very surprised by how comfortable these are, I usually find on ear headphones uncomfortable after a short period but I can wear these for hours with no discomfort. In regards to sound quality the p5's sound amazing for what they're designed for. Bass is tight and not overpowering like a lot of other headphones. Mids are simply superb, the p5's are somehow able to really bring vocals to life and instruments like pianos and guitars sound amazing. The highs are quite good although you can definitely tell they're rolled off somewhat so you do lose a bit of detail. Some people don't like it but I've found it to be a good thing as it helps prevent your ears getting fatigued so you can keep listening during those long commutes which is what these headphones are designed for. Over ear headphones will give you a better soundstage but for smaller, more portable on ear headphones the P5's do an amazing job. Highly recommended!

I just love this headphones. It just sounds better than bose on-ear headphones. Very warm mid and highs and just the right amount of bass. I have this SRS amplifier that i put in my ipod and it just makes it more great sounding in a way that when you are listening to a concert its like you're there

First of all, the primary areas I had in mind when purchasing headphones was audio quality, design/build quality, ergonomics/portability and cost. I tested every headphone throughout my local Apple store as well as the one's Bestbuy had on display and in my opinion the P5's were the clear winner. The design/build quality is typical B&W. The looks are very elegant and will appeal to anyone that likes the finer things in life. The build quality is very good and should last for years as long as you maintain the fine leather. Ergonomically, I love the feel of the pads and the fit is very comfortable. The cord being on one side is a plus but I do think the controls could have been lowered about two inches but I'm sure I will get use to it. As for the sound, I find them to sound very warm with a good smooth bass. The mid's are warm as well as the highs but it could be a bit more detailed. Controls work great on the iPhone.

Overall, it will be hard to find a better headphone for $300 that will give you quality sound, comfort and the look of elegance. I had the P3's for a few days and realized for a price tag of $200 they just weren't cutting it that's why I stepped up to the P5's.

When it comes to headphones I think I must have tried just about everything in my quest to find peace and comfort while coding!

I have been through Dr Dre Beats, Sennheiser PX100's and 200's, Bose Quiet Comfort, Klipsch S10i's and my - up until now favourite - House of Marley Destiny TTR's.

My challenge has been in finding headphones that sound truly excellent AND are comfortable to wear for extended periods. Apparently there must be a little vanity wrapped up in there too - because the TTR's just about fit the bill - except that they are so huge you look like you belong in the cockpit of a Lancaster bomber...

The P5's really give me everything I have been looking for. They are comfortable for long periods, sound wonderful and are relatively discrete in a work environment. As a bonus they look and feel really classy - all leather and metal...

A truly wonderful set of headphones.

Amazing headphones but has one major flaw

I've had my p5s for a little under 3 years now, and I have to say they are amazing headphones. The sound quality can't be matched (doesn't compensate any mid frequency sounds with high levels of bass or treble), and they work great at isolating sound so all you really hear is the music. They are also quiet comfortable headphones will leather for both the ear pads and headrest.

However it does have a major flaw in that its cables are cheaply made. At least B&W thought about this ahead and made it so that the cables (and ear pads) are easily replaceable, but I've gone through 6 of them already and going to my 7th now (my 6th one just broke, when a friend of mine tugged at cable while it was attached to my iphone in my pocket. I haven't had any problem with B&W to get replacements but still its a minor annoyance that shouldn't be happening.

these headphones literally improve the quality of my life haha.
perfectly balanced, clear sound; .... unlike Dre Beats which overemphasize bass/treble... or Bose which just blows.. (except lacks active noise cancelling).
    very comfortable and classy looking!!!
I would not look any further :)

    Music to your ears...

Every time I walked into my local Apple shop I looked at these - I tried them on several times and each time I walked out empty handed, until recently when I plucked up the courage to buy them. I've never been a music enthusiast, hence my reluctance to spend £250 on a set of headphones, but I'm glad I did. I'm now hearing songs far more clearly - each word sounds perfectly crisp; and each note like it was played in front of you. Surface to say, I'm not listening to music far more now than ever before. I also use these to listen to movies on my iPad.

All in all, if you/re into music other than Drum 'n' Base (I believe that's what the kids call it), I think these would be a great buy. The other reason I would opt out if DnB was your cup of tea is simply because I have heard to can buy earphones with a greater range of base, which may suit this genre of music. However, if you're into general music, like me - these are perfect!

FYI: I also enjoy listening to "BIG BAND" names, such as Sinatra through to the more recent Bubble and I have had a wonderful experience, hearing each instrument crisply - including those that give the big BASE sounds!

This is not an impulsive review. I have now owned these for 2 yrs and I love them more and more as time goes by. If you love all kinds of music these are for you. Other headphones have too much bass, others sound too bright. These are just so natural and gorgeous in their sound reproduction. Others sound great in the store but they get very tiresome when you listen for any extended time. The more I listen to these, the more I can't wait to put them on. I never get tired of listening to them. They are comfortable and durable. When I think of how much joy I have gotten out of them and for how long, the price is a bargain. Songs I have listened to hundreds of times, I still appreciate new sounds and textures. I have owned Bose, Sony, Sennheiser, Klipsch, Audio Technical, Shure. These are my favorite.

I'm on my 4th pair of these pricey headphones--the left ear cup dies after a few months of use. I baby these things and only use them at my desk. Bowers & Wilkins certainly honors their warranty, but this is ridiculous.
