    Awesome sound, too pricey

    • Written by from San Diego

I bought it and loved it. Found no problems with it until I tried to use my iPod Touch's apps. I have an ambiance program to play sounds as I sleep as well as the new Sirius XM Online App. Looks like the docks shuts itself off after 30 minutes of not playing "iPod Music" rather than detecting sound/music period. So any apps running isn't detected by the dock and it shuts off after 30 minutes. I don't like this and wish I could get another dock.

    Great sound but...

Great sound, but a pity it will not charge the iphone/iPod when in dock. Pity too that it will not work with earlier Ipods

    Sheer BOSE Brilliance

    • Written by from Wigan

Got this with a touch but didnt get on with it.
Swapped for 120gb classic and am now in heaven.
Got a pair of bose speakers about 20 years ago, still great sound so knew this was gonna be quality.
Sound is great, set eq to ROCK for best sound but really doesnt matter, small footprint big sound. Who needs floor shaker speakers, a pair going cheap on ebay.

    Fab Speaker

    • Written by from Melbourne

This is quite possible the best purchase I have ever made, I have taken it away on holidays with me to have tunes ready to go, as well as using in the home. The sound quality is nothing short of brilliant and it charges at the same time, so even when playing music all night, it is ready to go to the Gym the next afternoon! I love it! Worth every cent!

    Bose SoundDock II

    • Written by from Bridgwater

Okay, I confess I am a Bose fan, so this review is, right from the start, totally biased. There are good reasons for being a Bose fan: they produce systems which are both delightful to the ears and the eyes. The SoundDock II is a perfect companion for the ipod/iphone, producing a rich warm tone with a good base and solid treble. The speakers are expensive at £220 but the quality will be appreciated for a long time to come.

    Fit for purpose

    • Written by from LONDON

I always believe in sound systems you pay for what you get. Yes it is expensive but for a single module the range of sound and the quality is stunning. I have had mine over a year now and charge my i-pod touch through it so I don't understand the previous reviewers difficulty. I love digital radio and play my radio through the speaker too.

In essence if you want a simple high quality sound in a small home office (or bedroom) as I do and with the added bonus of being able to take it into the garden or on a picnic or by the pool this is for you. Fit for the purpose it was designed for.

    A Good Solid Performer!

    • Written by from WORTHING

The sound from this dock is relatively good considering it's size. The design is fantastic and the remote is nice, the sound is good overall, although, don't expect a lot off bass. My only problem with the sound is that it doesn't really hit the low notes at all, but it is small, so you can't be picky. My other problem is the price, I think it is a little much considring how other companies have something that sounds as good at a lower price, but the Bose is nice and easy to set up though, so I can't really complain there either.

If you are looking for a bedroom type iPod dock that will impress your mates with a very loud sound, this is the one for you!

    Expensive, but worth every penny

    • Written by from Birmingham

I had just brought my first ipod with this, and i can safely say that this is the loudest and best quality sound device i have in the house...
It was quick and easy to use, just plug in your ipod and off u go. The sound is of the highest quality even at the loudest volumes. On the subject of volume, this music system will blow u away at 70% volume, never mind full volume.
It is expensive, but without a doudt worth every penny.
A well deserved 5 stars, could not find anything wrong with the product, or the remote control it comes with.

You get what you pay for. Brilliant!

If you're unsure about forking out over £200 for this unit, do what I did. Go along to John Lewis, or another store that has it on display, with your iPod in your pocket, dock your iPod into the display unit and have a play with it. Simple! You will not be disappointed. The sound quality is the best I've ever heard from a portable unit of this size. I am discovering sounds from tracks which were produced decades ago which I have never noticed before. I would like to be able to turn up the volume a bit further than I do, but as I live in a terraced house with cardboard walls, I have to consider the neighbours. For my enjoyment though, this is the DB. I was considering the Zeppelin, but the Bose is better on so many levels.
Still having a bit of trouble mastering the use of the remote control track-finder facility. Maybe it's just my age!

    Fantastic sound! - Minor glitches

    • Written by

I have had this system for 1 year now, and i am yet to find a better sounding system for the money - It sounds fantastic!- The only minor floor with the dock is the volume adjustment buttons on the side sometimes don't work. Over all this is a great sounding system for the money - I highly recommend it.

Two Years and Still Loving It

    • Written by from Chester

Our experience with our Bose Sound Dock has been very good. We have not experienced the problems described in a few of the reviews written here. We are two years into ownership and are as satisfied with our sound dock as we could be. Actually quite amazed at how long the battery will still play after a charge and always appreciate how it leaves our ipods and iphones charged when we are done with the sound dock. Quality of sound is quite amazing for such a small box. Get one soon.

    Dock and Rock

I was astonished something so small could sound so big and fill a room with such quality of sound. My only complaint is that the remote occaisionaly falters. Shame.

    Bose sound dock is dissapointing

    • Written by from Walnut Creek

I would not buy another one. I am on my second one. The plug in the back of this player is somehow defective. If you move it around too much it falls out and cannot be plugged back in, rendering it useless!!! I have tried to fix it, but it eventually falls out again. If it was made to stay in permanently it might work better. I am disappointed and will not buy another.

    DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY

    • Written by from East Stroudsburg

That's right! Do not waste your money on this system. First it started with a poping sound, the next day after playing for about 20 minutes it died.

Reputation doesn't mean anything for Bose anymore.

It's just a waste of money and time.
