    Bose Companion 2 Series II

What powerful little speakers. These speakers arrived today and have made a huge impact. The bass is great and makes watching movies and listening to music so much better. Well worth the money. Will definitely buy more from the Bose range.

These speakers are great. First off, my neighbor gave me these as thanks for fixing her computer. These have been knocked off the desk and slammed on the floor many times by her three hyper daughters and her cat, but they still sound great, at least as good as the demo Companion IIs at the local Bose store which didn't look like they had ever been touched. Very durable speakers. Second, all the sound reproduction is great across the spectrum. I was especially impressed with the bass. It sounds like there really is a subwoofer. Third, nice thick cables that are long enough to position the speakers anywhere you want. Fourth, the the speakers feel very solid. There is a strong metal plate in front that will not bend and the plastic parts even feel like very high quality. Fifth, there are dual red and white audio inputs, so you can connect it to your computer and something else, such as an iPod and the red and white inputs make it easy to connect to a game console or DVD player or TV.

No cons here. Bose has outdone themselves on this system. It's totally worth $100.

I was contemplating these today while buying an iMac. The store demo stopped working, turned out to be faulty wiring. They've probably seen high use and abuse but with parties, teenagers, life, won't they in your home too?
store experience + all these reviews = Harmon Kardon (they sound and look amazing)

These are wonderful speakers. I use them with my iPod and my Macbook, you can use them for anything with a audio output. They have a great bass and treble that automatically tune themselves. I highly recommend this product!

I listened to a handful of speakers and was blown away by Bose. I purchased this for my mbp. if you use Garage Band these speakers are amazing in reproducing the various guitar amps. It's great for listening to iTunes too.

These speakers were part of a display for three Bose systems. When listening to these speakers I thought I was listening to the top system on the display. These are a great addition to any sound system, imo.

That is my story also! Very disappoined. Thought I could not go wrong with "Bose."

I was really looking forward to those speakers. Still can't believe it.

I often work from home and listen to music for a large part of the day. I was fed up with normal computer speakers sounding thick and drony, so when I updated my iMac I also ordered a pair of these speakers.

I have been using them for a few weeks now and I am really happy with the sound. It is detailed and strong, without being boomy or overpowering. The build quality is excellent for the price. They are quite small and will not fill a large room, but are great for a study, my room is 3m x 4m and they work perfectly.

    Highly recommended!

I purchased these a little over a year ago for my dorm room. I was looking for speakers that would provide good sound quality but not disturb my neighbors with a subwoofer. I have found these speakers to be an excellent solution.

The sound quality of the Companion 2 Series II is very good considering its a 2.0 setup. The midrange and treble are good. Bass is obviously not particularly strong but is sufficient. Overall the speakers create a balanced sound, not tinny and not heavy on the bass.

The speakers are not great for filling a room for say a party, but for sitting at your computer and listening to music or watching a movie, these are great. Additionally, they have a sophisticated design- not crazy in design and definitely not ugly. They're good size and offer dual RCA inputs as well as a convenient headphone jack.

I gave a rating of 4 starts for two reasons. One, there is no off switch (sometimes the speakers have a faint buzz when not plugged into an audio source). Two, the price. While $100 is not that expensive, you could buy 2.1 system easily. I think $80 would be a more reasonable price.

That said, I do not regret my purchase at all. In all honesty, I am more satisfied with these than my $500 Bose Wave Radio. I would highly recommend these for someone who wants speakers that offer good sound quality but do not want them to be overly loud/boomy.

    Did I rip THEM off?

The best speakers i've ever had.. for only $150!

Everything is absolutely crisp. More than sufficient bass for such a small unit. The perfect companion to a Macbook for those who don't want to blow the budget!

I barely give 5 stars but this is why! Best speaker for the price. They actually sound like ''bose'' as in great sound. I thought it wouldn't sound great for such a price but i was wrong. It delivered in 24hrs after i ordered.( through fedex) which was very impressive. I wish things always worked this way but unfortunately not everything does. Expect a great product folks.

I bought two of these. The first pair I had problems with a connection to one speaker being faulty and cutting out. The pair were eventually worthless. The new version of these with a nicer style came out and I bought those thinking the problem with the first pair was just a fluke. The second pair emitted a buzzing noise periodically. These were used with a PC I had. When I switched to the iMac I let them go with the PC. The sound is very good but not recommended if you really have to have a lot of base. But for me they had decent base and not having to deal with having a sub woofer is what I wanted. They look nice. I can't really say how these compare to anything else. It may be that these are overpriced being the name Bose and that there are much better speakers out there. I just ended up getting into Bose many years ago but am finding that maybe they're not all there're cracked up to be. I wouldn't purchase these again and would think much harder before buying any Bose going forward.

Paired with my docked iPad, these beautiful Bose speakers make a visually arresting music & movie system. Love it! Highly, highly recommended.
