    Worst Apple product ever(Lighting cable)

    The lighting cable is the worst Apple product ever. You cant use the same power cube to power multiple devices. I have to now have several cubes plugged in to charge my iphone5 and my new ipad. If I try to use the wrong power cube to charge my ipad it can take up to 20 hours to get a full charge. Not to mention it was great having an old style dock on my counter that I could come home and put my iphone on to charge. It also had a place to rest and charge my ipad. Now I have to have wires draped all over the counter.

    It seems like it was made for this case. I appreciated the positive reviews saying it fit because I was almost afraid to try it. It snaps in. I like the secure fit, but not so tight that it scrapes. I gave it 4 stars because I think it should work with video. It is a keeper for me. One of the things I dislike about these kind of adapters is that they aren't really secure. When it is on, it feels like it is part of the case phone set up. It also comes out easily.

    Does not work with Camera Connection Kit

    Does not work on my Camera Connection Kit when connected to my iPod Touch 5 - contrary to what some have indicated in the web or in this reviews.

    Also, using this usually means you need to take off the protective cases most people use. Suggest you consider the cable version if your purpose is to dock it to your speakers/stereo so as to avoid the unusual height and the weight is not carried by the connector.

    Shame really but the adapter doesn't allow the HDMI adapter for the old Ipad connector to function, which means that you have to purchase the HDMI adapter seperately, running in at £40 is not a purchase to be taken lightly, especially if you only recently bought the non lightening version.

    I hear to many stories like this one, in which the adapter doesn't really work with oher kit (including Apple's own adapters), all it seems to confortably work with is the charger but the old skool chargers. So if you need it for anything else, probably best to steer clear.

    I HAVE BEEN USING THIS ADAPTER FOR 2 MONTHS AND ITS PROBABLY THE BEST ADAPTER I HAVE EVER SEEN IN STORES...İT FITS VERY WELL TO MY IPHONE5 AND THE OLD CHARGING CABLE...IM USING IT IN MY CAR CHARGER AND WITH MY DOCK...

    First off, it does its job perfectly, the 30 pin cords connect flush with the body of the adapter and it allows you to charge, sync, and play music/video. The only thing I didn't like about it is that if you use this with a doc your device will lean back and it seems to bend the charing pins in your device. Other than that its a great product (except for the $30 price tag!)

    The adapter only works with the iphone cover off - after a while the cover is useless. Buy the new cable instead.

    I have 3 places I charge in the house, not including laptop, and 2 cars. Should I be spending £150 on adapters??? I wish Apple would drill a hole through the thing so I could attach to my keys and take with me everywhere without fear of losing it.
    My fear is that Apple has already thought of this, but hasn't done it because they want me to spend the £150...

    waste of money i bought this so i could connect my iPhone 5 to my B&W sound system and all it does is charge it. and now iv got go buy apple tv so i can watch films on the tv cause it doesnt support video :(
    wish id kept my iphone 4 everything worked ok till apple went messing about changing the connectors

    Very little limited function

    Currently the only success try is working with apple charger. Nothing else. Not with video cable, not with camera kit. So do be careful when you wanna buy.
    It's an apple branded accessory but not working with other apple accessories. I'm quite disappointed.

    I have the Roxy stero system and the ihome and neither works with this adaptor. Only my chargers work with it. I guess I need to buy all new bluetooth accessories??

    Works Great

    I bought this thinking that it would be chunky and not be able to work when I have a case on my iPhone. But it fits my phone perfectly with the case on. The people that are complaining about it must have very chunky cases if they adapter is not working. It was definitely worth buying as now I can use my iPhone on all of my old docks.

    Purchased this to use with the MDI device used in Volkswagens. Does what it says on the tin, charges my iphone and outputs music. Can't complain

    When I bought the iPhone 5 I was a bit apprehensive because I feared an incompatibility with my 2011 Hyundai i30 sound system.
    Fortunately, everything worked perfectly. I keep mine always plugged to the car cable.

    I am using it in my 2006 BMW with an OEM ipod adapter, not only it work fine, but it seems to work better than a using the 30-pin connector on previous iPhone.

    I have noticed that this device has some sort of memory build in to it, when I disconnect the IPhone when I leave my car and come back to it later the last played track continues playing that track rather than starting from the first song on the device.

    Also when the IPhone is connected it start playing straight away, it doesn't go through the initialisation process which it used to do (about 30s to a minute depending on the number of songs) which was the case when I was using a 30 pin device.

    Couldn't be more happy with it as it fixed the flaws I had been dealing with in previous devices.

    I was very skeptical about upgrading my iphone 4 to 5 because of the compatibility issues, but it turned out to be a non issue for me. Got this adapter mostly for my car and it WORKS. I installed iSimple mod to AUX input so I could listen and charge Iphone at the same time, as a bonus I can skip tracks from the steering wheel. This adapter allows me to use the iPhone 5 just the same. My yamaha piano craft RX-E810 and ipod dock work with this adapter as designed. I can control my iphone through a remote, see my playlists etc right on the display.
    A slim case is a must for this mod to fit.

    Doesnt work in my 2012 Mercedes, my Yamaha DAB, my Onkyo docking port or my Ruark DAB - so that is every device I have - £25 for a power converter and I purchased 2 before I found out...
