I got tired of bulky cases of which I have had many trying them out. Granted, I have never dropped my 4S with any case, so I can't say if this case provides the same protection as others. In light of that, the Apple bumper looks fantastic, fits tightly on phone, as close to carrying it "naked" as you can get, yet still provides drop protection and has a good grip. The wife has a 5 and would love to have one, but it's not availiable. If you are rough on your phone, maybe choose another. My favorite case so far.

great product people say its bad and scratches your phone but no it doesnt. It will keep your phone very safe and it wond get destroyed within a few weeks iv had mine for ages and yeah shouldnt put it on and off too much and if you dont take it off right yeah it can split. Treat well and it will stay good for long great protection without the stupidity of taking away your iphones beauty.

I bought this from the 5th Avenue Apple Store 1 Year ago and I only used it on my iPhone 4S. I have to admit it is a little bit bulky but really does protect it from falls and hits.

Everyone agrees that the iPhone Bumper is well-made, leaves all functions accessible, makes the phone more comfortable to hold, helps it stay put on inclined surfaces especially, etc, but there are also some complaints that make no sense to me:

[Complaint 1] No protection for the glass face and back. The raised rubber edge actually provides excellent protection to the entire device, including front and back, against impacts with flat surfaces - desks, floors, etc - which would seem to be the main hazard. It's no help at all, of course, if you smack the glass against a small convex object (a car's bumper, similarly, is no help, eg, if you drive into a truck's lowered tailgate). Lots of protection with a very small footprint, I think.

[Complaint 2] The bumper scratches the antenna-frame. After more than a year, there are no scratches on the frame of my iPhone, and I don't how there could be: stainless steel is very tough, and could not be scratched by plastic. If some sand-like abrasive were caught under the bumper the frame might get scratched, but if you blame this on the bumper, then you should also credit the bumper with protecting the screen form trapped sand, because it doesn't cover the screen!

I bought the black bumper and I love the look and feel of it. It has a minimalist design and fits snugly onto the phone. It is really grippy so it doesn't slide all over tabletops. It is a little pricey, but it is worth it. I bought a white one too.

I've had this since the iPhone 4S came out. At first glance, it seems like minimal protection. However, I've had my phone fall out of my hands onto the street a few times and I've always been relieved to see it bounce around with no scratches. About a year ago, someone tried to steal my phone and after they realized they wouldn't get away, they threw the phone about 10 feet in the air and 15 yards away against an irregular stone building. After it bounced off the building and hit the ground, they smashed the phone with their boot before running away. Aside from a small gash on the side of the bumper, there was only a tiny cosmetic scratch about a half an inch long on the back of the phone itself. The metal frame of the phone and glass front were completely unharmed. For $30, this is well worth having to protect your phone from drops without a bulky case.

The Apple Bumper is a well thought-of case. I personally don't like bulky cases and cases that cover the back of my iPhone. Also, I'm very picky with whatever I put my iPhone on. My bumper's colour is black - I like to keep it simple yet elegant. It looks great, I tell you!

However, if you're very artsy, I recommend you to get one of the neon colours, specifically blue or green (orange and pink looks cheap in my opinion). I personally don't recommend the white bumper because not only does the rubber get very dirty easily, it turns to yellow overtime. Every salesman I went to in stores didn't have it in stock because of the bad reviews.

If you're looking for something that would protect your iPhone from damaging falls and accidental slipping, the Apple Bumper is right item to get! I'm really happy with mine and for months, I haven't put on any of my previous cases - that is definitely something.

My bumper has been on my iPhone for months and it hasn't gotten any loose. Perhaps it depends on how you treat your phone. If you keep switching from the bumper to another case then I'm sure it's bound to loosen its grip.

I ensure you, the moment your bumper's attached to your iPhone, you're never going to look for any case again. It's perfect for me.

I only got my bumper a few days ago but I absolutely love it. The colour is really nice and bright and it has a plastic coating with a rubber edge so I don't understand how it can get too dirty. I thought it was slightly pricey but because I love it so much, the price isn't a problem. And if it gets a bit dirty I will buy another! :-) it fits perfectly too . Most other cheaper brands do not fit properly and can be quite bulky. This bumper one is perfect size and secure. :-)

I love this case. Here's why: it is a bumper so most of the phone is still visible. Also, the buttons are still metal. The bumper wraps around the front and back of the phone so I can set it down without fearing it will get scratched. Finally, it provides enough protection to keep the phone safe. I dropped my phone with the bumper on. Although there are a few signs of the drop on the bumper, the phone it self is in pristine condition. I love this bumper. I was hesitant to buy it because people said it starts to look bad and scratch your phone - neither of which have happened to me.

I'm from NZ and just got my black bumper for iPhone the other day.It looks great on the phone and compliments it rather than spoil the phone like some other cases.Looking at the comments,the more negative comments are from 2010.We pay $55 here but its worth protecting an important investment.I've tried other cases from either online and town stores but nothing compares to this as I got tired of rubber bricks or loose leather cases that flip open.

-Less of a case is better.Truly Apples genius design.
-Has no back cover but this is good anyway because it shows off the glass on both sides.99% of other cases cover the back glass up.
-It raises the glass just enough for protection but its not too thick and every edge is protected.
-Some say its to loose but mine feels rigid enough and comfortable in my hand.
-Black on a black phone makes it look as professional, if not more,than no bumper at all.
-I'm keen to try more colours as time progress but for now its awesome.
-The silence switch requires long fingernails but its not a deal breaker.
-I havnt had any stainless steel scratches that others report in their reviews.
-Stick with genuine Apple products.
