Reviews for Apple 60W MagSafe Power Adaptor (for MacBook and 13-inch MacBook Pro)

These power adapters do not last, the engineer that allowed this flawed design to hit the stores should be ashamed of himself. This was my fourth adapter, it just suddenly stopped working. I am not buying a new one from you given that I can but four generic adapters for each one of your disposable ones. Honestly Apple, you are selling overpriced disposable adapters and right now you are in no position to make mistakes and angry your customers, I am a very angry customer who has 316 dollars worth of trash.

My cord has never given me any problems until recently. The small magnet piece keeps detaching from the cord, and i have to fit it back into place in order for it to work. It continuously happens! 5 times so far!! I do not want to pay $80 for a new charger, that's insane!! Apple, please fix these for the next models of macbooks!! I love my computer but I hate when my electronics fail on me and my charger is A FAIL!!

My second is on its way out. My receipt (keep box and receipt for this one) shows I bought the replacement on March 5, 2012 and now, on November 17, 2012, it's toast. I use my laptop probably 10-12 hours a day and it travels to and from work. This adapter is probably fine for a stationary machine, but it needs to be much more heavy duty or else sell it for 20 bucks.

I bought my macbook in march of 2012. In october 2012 the adapter just stopped working one day. I was going to return it but I plugged it in and it worked again. Flash forward to today. Same thing happened and I plugged it in and now it works again. I went to apple products because I thought they were made better, but it seems to be cosmetic. In all my PC years I have NEVER had an adapter cord fail. Looking at the reviews I am fearful that this will be a long term problem. I love the interface of Mac products but I take very good care of my products to have them fail for no reason. And the adapter is something that should be 100% reliable. How can you troubleshoot if you can't turn it on. Kind of bummed.

Weird connection issues where the adaptor would sometimes not charge. It finally gave in after only two years. Using the designed coord-wrapper apparently wears the rubber down. Not what I expected at this price point.

The original one which comes with my macbook broke down in a year, I bought a new one, broke down again in a year. Connection was also bad and unstable, always disconnects when charging. A piece of rubbish which costs a lot. Definitely not recommended. Call yourself very lucky if yours last longer than a year.

Mac power adapters are horrible for longevity. With my macbook I had about 5 power adapters all together. The first one lasted for about 3 years and after that the product really took a nose dive. I have a macbook air now and the power cord that came with it only lasted a little over a year. This product needs serious improvement.
