    Does what it says inconspicuously

I like that I can just put the fitbit into my pocket or attach it to my belt. I'm not sure I want to wear a tracker on my wrist, even though that seems to be the latest direction for these devices.

It seems to keep a reasonably accurate track of my steps and the flights of stairs I climb every day. The companion app is not as pretty as the one for the Jawbone UP, but hopefully fitbit will update it when they release their wrist worn device this spring.

    Pros:
It was accurate recording steps taken. Synchs well with iPhone 5 and Mac computer.
Addictive, I keep checking the information on the fitbit, and I try to do more than the goals set.
    It is also very discreet.

    Cons:
The fitbit secures to clothing via a clip, which can work itself loose. I recommend using a small lanyard asap so if it drops off, you won't lose it. It has 'dropped off' 5 times in 2 weeks, so I am thankful I did it.

If you wear it the data will come.

I'm seeing a new doctor next week and the FitBit one has allowed me to collect data to discuss with this new doctor that would otherwise be difficult to describe. I find it interesting how the sleep analyzer has revealed how little actual sleep I get during the night. You can track your mood, your food and water intake and it will calculate your caloric intake verses calories burned. If your looking for a way to collect and process data the fitbit suite of products will allow you to record your, Food, activities, weight, sleep, heart rate, Blood pressure, glucose, and it has a handy journal for recording observations. I find myself spending more and more time recording my statistical data as I learn what the FitBit ONE has to offer.

Small, convenient and intelligent. I work at a restuarant bussing and running up & down stairs from the kitchen, it's a great way to figure out how many stairs and calories I'm burning every shift.

I had the Fitbit One for about three days, it seemed like a good product. I was gathering a sufficient amount of data to get a sense of its accuracy and consistency, it appeared to be quite successful at doing its job. Unfortunately for me, it slipped off my belt and is now lost forever. For what it's worth, I think the functionality of this product is decent and I recommend trying it but only if one finds a secure way to fix it to one's body... shame to have lost $100 though, probably won't invest in it again.

Accurately track and monitor your activity and sleep quality

My Fitbit One has become my constant companion. This is a fantastic product for anyone wanting a "silent" coach to monitor and motivate more healthy activity. It is incredibly simple to use once it is set up and links up with the free FitBit App and Web Dashboard which are both function rich and beautifully designed. It can additionally be synced with other leading Health and Activity Apps. It records Steps taken, Stairs Climbed, and your level and Quality of sleep all very accurately. Only for two minor gripes it would get 5 stars. The first is the belt clip which is actually very comfortable to wear and very functional but the FitBit itself has a tendency to pop out of the holder. It is only held in by light weight rubber wrap around sides. It is so small and light you will not notice it doing this and I have "lost" mine more than three times in the last three weeks of wearing it. My second grip are the instructions that come with the product. These are printed so small you need a microscope to read them. They are available on the product web site in a more readable form. Great product overall.

gotta love a device that claims i climbed a flight of stairs when i did no such thing and then fails to record a climb that i did do. useful? i don't think so.

then there's its supporting website and iphone app: the website displays weight data incorrectly. enter 71.7kg and it displays 71.6. not consistently but often enough that it's obviously programmer error and not user. also the iphone app displays that particular data correctly. where the iphone app fails at is if you enter 750ml for water consumed, it displays 25 fl oz.

the overall impression is of a clueless company that only halfway developed their products.

i'll not buy anything further from them ....

This device does all it claims. It is very useful even if you aren't trying to lose weight but just want to monitor your eating and sleeping habits.

Fitbit: you should be congratulated on creating a device that Steve Jobs would have been proud of. And that's saying something!

In my opinion, it is worth the price.
