Having bought these beats headphones the sound to one ear stopped working. I thought it was a one off, however this being the third faulty pair in 2 months with the same loose connection I have decided never again to purchase these headphones. Very disappointed

    Dollar Store Quality

Purchased the Beats Tour ear buds after losing my Bose. Big Mistake! The Beats only lasted 2 weeks and they feel really cheap. The left ear bud started only producing half the sound of the right. I was told by beats that i have to pay for the shipping to the factory where they fix them so they can see them and will consider if they fall under warranty. After paying over $170 for ear buds this should not be the case. These ear buds may look good but are really garbage.

I should have stuck with the Bose, never had a problem, had better sound quality and even cost less. Had them for 2 years with no problem till i misplaced them.

If you decide to buy Beats keep your receipt as you will need it for the warranty! These are also no longer made by monster, maybe thats why they feel like a dollar store ear bud, cause thats all they are worth!

flimsy and don't sound that great

Both me and my wife have owned these for about 4 months. The left speaker on my wife's stopped working after about 3 months. The control talk button on my earphones just fell apart today. Because of how old they are, I could no longer return them to Apple and had to deal with Beats customer service, which is nothing like Apple's customer service. It may take 2 months to get the warranty replacement. Do not buy. You may love them at first, but you'll eventually regret it. Oh and by the way, I'm not sure why others on here are thinking they sound great; they must be comparing them to the free earphones that Apple used to give with the iPods / iPhones. I actually think that Apple's new ear-pods sound better than these $150 headphones. I've owned Shure, Etymotic, and V-Moda and the sound with the Beats is far inferior. I should not have to tweak my EQ settings on my iPhone and MacBook Pro to get rid of the tinniness.

    Superb Sound

These beats tours have a very good sound , they will do all frequencies from extremely low bass notes your struggle to hear with other earphones to crisp high's and vocals , you can have them full volume without loosing quality , and the bass is incredibly deep but still doesn't distort the other frequencies , defiantly recommended

I have just returned my 3rd pair of Dr Dre Tour In-Ear headphones, they are good sound at first, but I have to keep returning them as they become faulty after 2-3 months, the right ear with MIC on keeps losing sound, as off now I will be looking at the B&W headphones as part of my refund and swerving Dr Dre's from now on.. real shame, as they do sound and look good

I got this as a gift for Christmas and it only lasted for about 2 months. I'd rather get the EarPods. Yes the quality and sound is really good, but it breaks to easily!

    Poor build quality

I bought these to replace the bundled headphones for my iPhone 5 which had a great sound quality but just fell straight out of my ears within 2 seconds of inserting them!
The Dr Dre have a decent sound but no better than the Apple in my opinion. The problem is the poor build quality. The in-line remote is so fiddly and absolutely rubbish at moving between tracks and the front half of the plastic casing fell off within a few weeks of purchase. The small clip that secures the cable to your jacket and takes the weight of the cable off the phones when they're in your ears came off and I lost it so now I have the weight of the cables pulling the earphones out of my ears when I'm walking along.
For the price I paid I am not impressed. A pair of Sennheisers would have been better I think...

    Awful earphones

I purchased these based on information I had read about Beats. The headset came and was packaged beautifully but worked badly. The sound quality was no better than the standard Apple headset and worse yet, I could not find a comfortable tip to fit my ear. After shoving it in my ear, I went for a run and it kept falling out. I do not recommend. Try something else.

    After 3 weeks use...

OK, I was expecting the worst after reading such poor reviews. While travelling I had forgotten my Etymotics which I love. Now the Etymotics are "relatively reference flat" and I love them for that and they fit my ears really well. I also possess Klipsch S4s, B&W C5 in-ear and some budget Senheissers. I also am music obsessed, so thats the context.

Firstly, the standard soft-plugs didnt fit so i tried the triple-plugs, and though they look really long, they fit OK. There are 6 different options. However, it is IMPORTANT to get them fitting well, and then the primary reason for buying this phone comes in - the BASS. Easily more bass powerful than any of the above phones I have. For pop, rock, indie, punk, alternate it makes the music exciting.

But I wouldn't listen to jazz, classical or folk with these Beats. But then I'm lucky enough to have a number of choices. After 3 weeks no issues with wear and tear as some have pointed out. They have fallen several times to the floor but no issues. The flat red ribbon wire is EXCELLENT for NO TANGLES! Every other phone I have tangles badly. These Beats don't.

The B&W C5s in comparison - rich mid-range, good bass, but too bright for me - I found it slightly fatiguing after an hour, plus I find the ear-loop too fiddly. Good sound, clearer than the Beats but not as exciting. Probably a compromise all-rounder.

The Etymotics HF-5 are excellent, the most accurate I have heard, and a great nice fit. They accurately reflect the music with no hype whatsoever, honest and no fatigue even after 2 hours of listening. However, sometimes I want a bit of bass and thats when I put these Beats on.

I Prefer all 3 above to the Klipsch S4 - nothing wrong with them - perhaps mid-range a tiny bit muffled in comparison - just my preference.

So to get teh best out of these Beats (a) make sure they fit your ear properly otherwise it will sound tinny (b) realise they are not reference quality, but they provide an exciting bass heavy mix which is good for some types of music and not others (c) be aware they complement your standard phones and ideally shouldn't be the only ones you listen to!

If they were £25 less they would be good value, but the extra is just profit they are wangling out of us for the brand image. A good second phone, but not a first choice.

I dont know what you all are buying....

I dont know what you all are buying... when i read other reviews on this product and see "3 months of use and it died" or "crackling" or "bad quality" or "broken wires" im completely baffled.
I've had my Tours for maybe 2 years now and theyre working to pristine order. The bass is amazing, and the treble is clear and unhindered, im quite satisfied with the Tours for everyday headphones. Keep in mind though that i take care of my Tours. I dont let them get tangled or tied up, i keep them straight and wrapped around my iPod. I also dont treat them like cheap 15 dollar Philips headphones either with the tugging and pulling out of tight pockets, or the shoving or letting them get squished by stuff in my bag, so maybe that could be a factor. I treat them as they are-- 200 dollar headphones that give me quality music.
I got a white one for christmas and they sounded great i used them for about a year. My dad then took them and bought me a red and black one, and they also were pristine. So i dont think its bad quality control we're talking about..... :S Ive been using my reds for 2 years now.
Overall... i love my tours, and i recommend them for people who appreciate heavy bass and clear crisp treble, with a good design and comfort. I dont know what happened to the faulty headphones from other people who have complained about them... maybe i just got the good ones.

    Beats Tour

I bought this instead of the Bowers and Wilkins C5 and boy am I regretting it now. Firstly, the earbuds simply dont fit snugly no matter which size i tried and had to finally jam them into my ear canal which hurt. Also, if you are thinking of moving.. forget it..they start to slip out and u lose all the bass.

Then the sound quality, for the price the quality is no better than most earbuds half the price.. even my $30 in-case earbus sounded the same quality.

The Tours are mainly for show. Don't bother.

Bought this product and after two weeks the typical no sound in the right channel. They return me a URBeats instead. After reading all the review on this product i understood that they gave up on this very suspect product since the rating on the replacement is way better. However i paid too much money for this and end up being short changed, i will never buy their product again, plain simple...Great Branding but no substance.....

    Poor Build Quality

These earphones sounded great and I loved the fit and design. However, they are poorly built. The right ear crackled out of the box and after a few days of light use it crapped out. I returned them and the sound in left ear cut in and out as the cord wiggled.

The design is good. The sound is decent. The build is cheap. This is my second pair of beats earbuds. The first pair was the original earbuds. The wire covering was always shrinking and coming out. So far the tours are holding up but the sound quality is decent and they are not very loud. All in all I am disapointed having dropped the coin on these headphones. I am really half tempted to take them back and get the bose.
