    So far so good

I've had the Weymouth for about a month now, and I'm liking the product very well.

As an electrician and IT specialist, I can see this product going places..

I've made three firmware upgrades and already I can see great improvements in the operation and remote control of the Wemo switches.

All issues have been address so far except one. I still have issues with access from the iOS from another access point other that what the Wemo switches are connected to..

Great so far... Looking forward to the Wemo wall switches due out soon

Perfect way to light up the room

Traipsing through the house in the dark to get to the light in the corner is no fun; especially when you're prone to trip on toys the dog left in your path. However, with the Belkin WeMo app I can activate the light from my iPhone ... simply brilliant. The device is inexpensive enough that I've picked up a few for other rooms and added one module with the motion detection feature to the garage.

Setup was a breeze and I like the ability to be able to schedule on/off times. The only issue I've run into was the light came on after I turned it off manually because there was a schedule that was supposed to turn off the light a few hours later. However, I just have to remember to disable the schedule if I go to bed early; and re-enable the schedule the next day. But that's a small inconvenience. Fix this issue and I'll gladly increase my rating to 5 stars.

    Easy Home Integration

I now have two WeMo Switchs and I love them. They work perfectly on my home network and they work just as well remotely. Easy set up takes about 5 minutes per unit. I would have gave them 5 stars, but I think at $50 per unit, it's a little pricey. I've found them cheaper from internet stores.

Watch out if using MAC address filtering

Just purchased a pair of these after seeing the good reviews of the product. Since I am using MAC address filtering, the devices need to be set-up in your router. However, as I found out (later) on the web, the labels on the devices are off by one - you need to use the MAC address +1. I found this out by temporarily turning off the MAC address filtering and looking at the clients connecting to the network.

After that, everything works great (I took more than a half hour to figure that out). I performed a firmware update on both devices and everything was back in less than 5 minutes (firmware updated on both devices at the same time).

I would recommend this for anyone who has a plug-in device that needs to be turned on (or off) at specific times of the day OR if someone wants to remotely turn on a device (such as a coffee maker). I am using one of them to control a lamp to give the appearance of being home (while away).

    Great product!

Picked this up at my local Apple Store. I have one room in the house where I'm constantly forgetting to turn off. And normally, I don't think about it until I'm about ready to fall asleep. I just pickup my iPhone, open the WeMo app, and turn off the lamp. And set up was a breeze too! Great product. Good for those who constantly forget to turn off the light. There are only 2 complaints. 1, the price. $50 is fine if your going to use 1 or 2 of them, but try to populate your house with these and they get expensive. 2, size. Due to the size of the WeMo, you can't plug 2 into the same outlet, which is bad if you have 2 items you would like to use WeMo for on the same outlet.

Great idea, and a few improvements will make it amazing.

These are great and in my opinion well worth $50 in order to stop using the wonky legacy light timers ("tic, tick, tic...") or other systems that are not as reliable. Give one of these a try and you will never go back!

    Second switch install tricky

Love these devices and would have given a 5 star but setting up the second device was a little more difficult, even though I selected "remember network" on first device I had to enter the network again, then it selected the guest network anyway! Also on the first device I got an error message pop up installing the firmware update yet the device was fine afterward. Writing rules are easy but I wish there was an option to vary the on/off times per rule, say the times can vary by n number of minutes on a random basis to avoid the set schedule and make it look more like someone is home. No need for a motion switch so no comments about it.

    Nifty little switch

I have to hand it to Belkin, the WeMo Switch is a pretty nifty little device. The device itself is a little bigger than I was expecting, but setup was a lot simpler than expected. I had no problems getting it up and running, nor connecting it with IFTTT, which was a very nice surprise to see. Plain and simple, it's a very simple device with a fair amount of potential. That said, it /is/ a little limited in what it can do right now, hence the 4/5. Other than that, no issues with it at all.

    Simple app controlled outlet

This is a simple way to control a power outlet via an app. Take the switch out of the box, plug it into a power outlet, set your wifi to the WeMo, configure it in the app, hit the "done" button after the app finds it, and then you can turn the outlet on/off or make timer rules for it to go on and/or off. I'm using it to control an air conditioner, so I can turn it on about an hour before I get home, so it'll be nice and cool. Additional security features would be an improvement ... anyone on the same SSID with the WeMo app can control any outlet on that network.
