I have both the VGA and HDMI cables for the iPad 3rd generation. Can I use this adapter to use either of my cables to show keynote and pdf documents on an external display?

Best AnswerNo this is not working either with the VGA nor the HDMI adapter.

Best AnswerYes. I have bought one, and it works, but first you have to remove the docking adapter from the Dream Machine's cradle (the little black insert *under* the 30-pin jack that allows it to accept everything from an iPod Classic to an iPhone 4S). If you don't take this out, the adapter doesn't fit in all the way. That being said, thus rigged, your snazzy new iPhone 5 suddenly looks ugly and stupid: it sits high up on the slick Dream Machine on this dorky white stub, leaning back until it touches the speaker cabinet. -rant removed- . Hopefully, Sony will come out with an adapter that integrates better with the design of the unit.

Is it compatible for the old 30-pin iHomes? Will an iPhone 5 keep it's balance if it's connected to an old 30-pin iHome with this adapter?
I used to have an iPod 4th generation on a 30-pin iHome but I don't have that iPod anymore. Now I have an iPhone 5 and i still have that old 30-pin iHome.

AnswerI tried it with M-Class Command APS 50 (Edition 2009) with Multimedia-Kit for IPOD with the 30 PIN cable + lighning adapter and the ipod touch 5g wasn't recognized.

Unless it contains a DAC, can we assume this "All digital" interface probably doesn't provide analog audio out either?

Best AnswerI does contain a DAC, and supports analog audio out. Same as the Line Out in the 30 pin connector.
