first of all... you wouldn't have any want or need to use it with your iPad
you can buy yourself an iPad stylus for a fraction of the cost
second... it requires a USB port and a CD rom, both features not available on any iPad model.

AnswerIt depends on what you're using it for. I think by tapping the pen on the tablet, you can move the cursor and with an OSK (on screen keyboard, which is available on Mac) you can just click on the keys using the pen. It is definitely compatible with graphical and animation softwares, in fact, it doesn't require any additional software (that needs to be added to something like Photoshop) for it to work.
