Best AnswerI finally managed to place an order for Snow Leopard from the Apple Store. Its not listed on their on-line system nor is it available at any retailer that I know. The only way you can purchase it is by calling the Apple Store.

This fall I will be going to college, and I have made the right decision to invest in a mac computer for the first time. Since I am majoring in aviation I would like to actively play Flight Simulator X. Will the 13inch 2.4Ghz Macbook Pro run it smoothly on medium to high end graphic performance?

Boot camp MacBook pro with retina display
Will I be able to install Bootcamp on my MacBook Pro with Retina Display?

Best AnswerYes - Boot camp will walk you through the various steps. With an iso image, a large usb drive (that will be wiped), and an internet connection, the Boot camp wizard will create a bootable usb image of the OS and download all of the boot camp drivers needed for windows. The download of the various drivers add up to 1GB and along with Win7, takes up approximately 4.33GB on my usb thumb drive.
I loaded Win7 on MBPR last night and it all seems to run well except for fairly high temps (probably due to Nvidia GPU use only - no access to automatically switch to the integrated intel 4000). You're capable of running full 2880 x 1800 resolution. Text and icons are small but still super crisp. External displays work as expected (HDMI and thunderbolt to dvi). All 3 screens will be functional (retina, hdmi, and dvi) but as mentioned above, it does run hot... cores measured up to 203 degrees F when pushing 2880 x 1800 streaming an hd video and 2 external 1080p screens surfing the web.- Answered by Bieu T from Durham

Best AnswerYou can't download Snow Leopard, and it's not free. But you do need it to upgrade from Leopard to (Mountain) Lion (assuming your computer can run the latter), and it's a good upgrade to Leopard even if you can't go further.
Apple doesn't make it easy to find Snow Leopard by browsing, and it's disappeared from the retail Apple Store that I visit. But it's "only" highly endangered; not yet extinct. If you go to the Apple Store site, and then search for "Snow Leopard", a page comes up offering the Snow Leopard DVD for $19.99 with free shipping.
To put that in context, Snow Leopard originally cost $29 (for Leopard owners), at a time when major upgrades to Mac OS X normally cost $129.
You may also be able to find Snow Leopard from other vendors who carry stocks of old software (such as some of the Marketplace dealers on Amazon).- Answered by Thomas N from Marlborough

Can i pull video from camcorders directly onto iPad for editing with pinnacle studio
Would like to transfer camcorder footage (Digital 8, Mini Dv, VHS -C etc ) to iPad. Can this be done? Are there special adapters required and what are they? I know a dazzle adapter is required for PC. Also Pinnacle Studio have just released a movie editing app for iPad - Is this any good? I know Final Cut Pro is the standard for iMac & Macbook Pro, just wondering about the iPad. Any comments/experiences welcome - Thank you.
