Debating between 128, 256, or 512 SSD MBPro 13.3" 2.9 non-R. Can someone gently explain the difference? Can RAM be purchased/installed separately?
Gift for husband. He is a software developer, not much of a gamer, so I don't know what options would be the best. I am buying this as a surprise, so I can't ask him :( I know NOTHING about any of this, so feel free to tell me like I'm 5 years old...

Is there an outdoor powered speaker system compatible with airport? I stream my music throughout my house but need powered speakers for outdoors.
I'm looking for something simple where I could perhaps plug the speakers and the airport express into an outlet in the garage and hang the speakers off the garage exterior. There just doesn't seem to be any product that I've seen that makes this process easy. I'm leaning toward just buying a cheap amplifier, connecting it to the airport express and running speaker wire out to outdoor speakers, but thought I'd see if anyone out there knows of an easier way. Thanks, Tim

All Apple computers come equipped with the most current operating system, Lion. There may be an update or two to install, but it's as simple as clicking a button. Also by default iLife, which consists of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand. This suite helps give your creativity a boost with your new mac. iPhoto is your photo editing software, iMovie for literally editing video, and GarageBand for making music. Of course you get iTunes, Mail, Address Book, iCal (Calendar). Did I mention you don't need any anti-virus software? Apple has already thought about you and has built-in security. Backing up your computer is easy and automatic. Time Machine is installed on your computer and you simply switch it on, define a hard drive for backing up and it will do the rest. You will never have to worry about backing up again!

Which computer should I get?
I'm currently using my Late 2010 MacBook Air 11" (1.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Due / 2GB DDR3 Ram / SSD) which I've been using as my primary computer, connected to a Samsung 27" display and my desk.
Recently, my computer has become slower and slower ever since the upgrade to Mountain Lion, it also doesn't help that I'm using quite intensive applications like Vega, Chrome (Avg. 10 Tabs) and Skype.
I use my computer for work as I work from home as a Network Security Consultant, so it's quite important for me to have the best hardware possible and for it to be at least 3 years future-proof.
I was thinking about the MacBook Pro Retina 15" (16GB Ram / SSD / 2.8GHz Intel Core i7) or the iMac 27" because since I have the MacBook Air, the portability of my primary computer won't matter.
I normally use my computer for 12-16 hours a day using applications such as Xcode, Eclipse, Wireshark, Chrome (10 Flash intensive tabs running), Skype (6-way HD conferences which can last up to 12 hours a day), and for personal use, I edit photos in Creative Suite 5, edit 1080p movies in iMovie and play games such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Left 4 Dead 2, etc.
Which computer would you recommend?- Asked by Kree L
