Which Macbook is good for light Graphic Design and Multitasking.
I am looking to purchase a Macbook but was not sure exactly which one would be best for me. I have tried other Forums but they all suggest build a PC laptop but I know mac is used a lot more with companies than a PC is. I am whiling to spend at max $2000 with the apple care plan. I need the computer to be able to multitask for my current office job and be able to run programs like Photoshop or Maya. I currently have a desktop at home for graphic design and would only the laptop to be able to do some stuff while I am away from home.
Please help me I know about computers but not a lot on Mac since this will be my first Mac computer purchase.- Asked by Justin B from Indianapolis

Macbook pro or macbook air for college student?
Hi everyone, I am going to be a freshman in college this Fall. I'm torn betwen the macbook pro and air and would love some opinions! I know I will be writing lots of papers, doing research, downloading music, using youtube, and using social media network sites etc. Will the air be enough storage? What are the pros and cons of each?

Hello,
I understand why you are having difficulty choosing which one would be best for you, and honestly, I also have difficulty choosing which one suits for me.
But to make it a little easier for you, I'll list the pros and cons for both MBA and MBP:
Macbook Air:
Since the tasks that you will be doing on the laptop don't need much space or storage, I think a 128gb SSD will actually be enough for you - but I don't know how much music you've got. Macbook Air or Macbook Pro, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND buying an external drive, they are cheap too!
The Air is light too, so carrying it around makes it a lot easier and more pleasant, but when I see it in the Apple Store, I'm always scared that it'll break or bend in my bag, maybe its just a risk you have to take.
I don't know how much you are willing to spend, but almost all the time, the MBA comes out cheaper which, to me, is a great advantage.
Unfortunately, everything is soldered to the MBA's board so you can't upgrade anything once you've bought it, I like modification so this for me is a big problem, so I recommend upgrading to 8GB of ram.
Macbook Pro:
(I have almost no space left so I'm going to make this brief and informative)
Its heavier than the MBA but you can modify and add ram or storage later if you want, which to me is a big thumbs up!
The processor is better, but since you won't be doing much that requires a big processor, I wouldn't worry about it.
The hard drive is slower, but it has an optical drive, but I don't use mine so that shouldn't really be a problem.
Overall, choose the MBA if you want something light, fast, less expensive but with no adjustments after purchase, and choose the MBP if you want something you can modify, has a big storage, a bit more expensive and a bit more heavier, with a faster processor.
Either way, I highly recommend getting an external drive either way.
Hope this helped!

MacBook Air or MacBook Pro?
I am a sophomore in High School but take medical courses over the weekends and during the summer at Columbia University. I have dealt with a desktop for a few years but I need a laptop to take with me to my classes. I commute every day and want something that I won't notice I'm carrying around. I have a very heavy work schedule and need a laptop that is thin and light but that is powerful enough to run programs like Adobe Photoshop quickly. I don't mind spending more to get a heavily configured computer as long as it meets my needs. I'm torn between these two because I prefer the MacBook Air 13" but I'm worried that it won't be able to deal with Photoshop. I spend a lot of my time typing reports, creating powerpoints, and editing photos in photoshop.

The Macbook Air runs Photoshop surprisingly smoothly. I don't think you'd have any trouble :) It's a powerful little machine!

Which choice is best for a high school student: the Macbook Air and iPad 4th generation or the Macbook Pro and iPad Mini?
I have just started high school this year and have been doing so well that my parents had decided to get me better electronics for my school needs. I have a budget and so I had to choose between the two above choices. I've been having such a hard time choosing because there are just too many factors too consider; I want a great Mac that can last me 'till the end of high school and an iPad I can use everyday for things like games, music, emailing, facebook and movies but mostly for reading and school (textbooks, etc...) Please help me choose!!!

Ok,
I would DEFINITLY go with the macbook pro and iPad mini since one is kinda big and one is kinda small. Also, remember that the macbook air is REALLY light and it doesn't take discs. Also, there was this story of a stupid guy who threw his macbook air out because it was so light. NEVER do that. That would be terrible.
So ipad mini:
Smaller
easier to carry
iPad with Retina display
retina display
faster
bigger screen
Mac Air:
light
can go REALLY small
Mac pro: (I would suggest the one with retina display
retina display (if wanted)
takes discs
not as light and easy to break
if heavier not as easy to break- Answered by Mariah L

College Student: Should I get a MBA or a MBP?
Hi, I'm a high school student and in a couple months I'll be going to college with a major in Biotechnology. I'm going to be taking a lot of math and science classes, and probably a couple engineering classes, and I'm planning on getting a minor in something like Criminology. On top of that, I like using my laptop for surfing the internet, downloading movies, holding my 1,000+ iTunes library, and sometimes playing graphics intense games (Sims 3 with all extensions, Amnesia, Assassin's Creed, etc.) Which laptop and size would be best for my needs?

Difference between Macbook Pro with Retina Display and the new Macbook Air?
As the new Macbook Pro doesn't come with a disk drive and the original Macbook air doesn't come with a disk drive at all, what is the difference? They differ from price therefore, I would like to know the difference.

Hi Krysta,
There is a lot of difference between the MBP (Macbook Pro) and the MBA (Macbook Air) aside from the price and the ports. For starters, the MBP features a high resolution 15" display (everything you see on the screen will be super sharp and crisp). The MBA is about 1.5lbs lighter than the MBP and as you've stated it does not have a dvd drive. MBP is meant for people who will be working a lot with video or photography, things that require a lot of processing power, think a fast car. MBA is more for the casual user who will only use the laptop for general every day things like surfing the web, uploading pictures, chatting with friends, etc. The MBP will also have more storage space assuming you are sticking with the base models (meaning you aren't planning on making any upgrades). Hope that helps. If you have questions you can always walk into an Apple store and test out the machines and ask the sales people there.- Answered by Ricky C from Brooklyn

Hi,
Currently, there is no Ms Office for iPad yet. But if you need to view, modify and share your Ms Office files, you can do it on iPad using app developed by Apple.
Use Pages for Ms Word files, use Keynote for Power Point files, use Numbers for Excel files. However, from my experience, you will face some minor alignment run and font changes.
Buy the app for USD9.99 for each app from App store right from your iPad.- Answered by Hasliza S from Gombak

what PRINTER works with a iphone4s
I have a iphone4s, 16g. I need to print photo's, & emails, & other documents. I have a Canon MP830 Printer, scanner, Fax Machine. Is that printer capable w/my iphone4s to print? I tried connecting just the iphone4s cable that came with cell phone, plug one end into the end of iPhone and plug the other USB end into the Canon USB port, but the printer says it does not recognize the device when I plug the cord into the printer. Do I need to install a app into my iphone4s to be able to print. Do I need to use a different kind of connector cable that plugs in at the end of my iphone4s to the Canon MP830 Printer USB port? What do I put the printer settings on to make sure my iphone4s cell can print. Do I have to buy a completely different printer just to print from my iphone4s? Or is a device I can purchase to hook my iphone up to with a cable connector to my MP830 Printer to be able to print.
This is very frustrating, I have had this cell phone over a year and haven't been able to print from it. I heard I would have to purchase a Air Printer to be able to print anything off of my iphone4s. If that is a true statement, please let me know. If that is the only way to print from my iphone, I will not keep this service or iphone4s any longer.
I also, have a Canon PIXMA iP2700 (2702) Series Printer, please let me know if I can possibly download photo's from my iphone4s Cell Phone to that printer to USB and what type of USB Cable may or may not work.
Thank you for your time and understanding concern!- Asked by Tammie M from Fontana
