Is the 60w MagSafe 2 power adapter compatible with the model without retina display

No, it is not. The MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter won't help because it only works one way: converting MagSafe --> MagSafe2, not the other way around.

Yes & No.
The 60w MagSafe 2 Power Adapter (MacBook Pro with 13-inch Retina display) is compatible with the MacBook Pro 13-inch (non-Retina display) as long as you use the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter.
If you don't use the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter, you'll be out of luck.
I asked an Apple Store Genius and he confirmed you need the MagSafe to MagSafe 2 Converter!- Answered by Todd N from Everson
