I have an iMac with the following specs, can I upgrade to OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard?    iMac 9,1  Intel Core Duo  3.06GHz processor  4GB Memory

    Yes.

    Are you sure you only have an Intel Core Duo processor?
    Model iMac9,1 should have come with the Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
    (The 3.06GHz processor was an option for the 24" iMac.)

    I have an older 24" iMac model iMac6,2 with Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Absolutely no problem running Snow Leopard OS 10.6.8.
