Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader
Product Information
-
With the Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader, it's easy to download photos and videos from your digital camera to your iPad or iPad mini so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.
After you insert the SD card into the reader, your iPad automatically opens the Photos app, which lets you choose which photos and videos to import, then organizes them into albums. When you sync iPad or iPad mini to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library.
The Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader supports standard photo formats, including JPEG and RAW, along with SD and HD video formats, including H.264 and MPEG-4.

perfect memory portal for large/multiple videos on smaller ipad minis
Have a 16GB ipad mini, but how to pack around a lot of videos to watch without clogging my ipad mini? Use this with a card to keep X ammount of videos to watch and upload at whim to my mini to watch, also use SD card as a photo library. basically this makes your ipad mini into a much larger platform for getting vids and pics onto it without having your computer at hand to upload new / diff vids or photos from. which is perfect for travel where you want a HUGE GB of vids to upload to watch on your ipad mini. …

Works as it should
I bought this for my new iPad mini. You should insert the card in the reader, then insert into iPad. No problem with transfer.

Does what it says it does.
Ok so, all I see here is that it won't work with 64 gig cards blah blah blah. Seems to me you are the ones who did not do your res earch before you bought it. I read everything I can about almost everything I buy and i ask questions too. So I bought it knowing what it will and will not work with. No it does not work with your iphone so all you need to do is use the icloud, simple. this has done everything I need it to do and I bought it because I researched it and knew what it is for going in. Oh ya, some have said they cant use cloud because of no wifi, well I fixed that as well, just use your phone as a hot spot and your done BAM! …

Doesn't work for me.
I have the ipad with the plug in sd reader device, my wife has the ipad mini with lightning sd card reader. I have made a file of wedding photos, taken by various people at my son's recent wedding, and transferred them onto a sd card but neither tablet recognises the card. Any reason why this is happening? This is the reason we bought the readers. All photos are jpeg, no videos. The publicity material suggest plug and play - not for me it isn't! …

No. Lightning to SD Card Camera Reader will only import photos and videos to 4th Generation iPad or iPad mini. It will not write files from iPad to SD card. When you sync iPad or iPad mini to your PC or Mac, the photos and videos on your iPad are added to your computer's photo library. Will this work with iPad 3rd generation
- Asked by Norma S from Willits
- 17/02/2013
Answer
No, because the iPad 3rd generation uses the 30 pin connector. This product uses lightning. Apple ma kes a SD card reader for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generation iPads, which can be found by searching 'Apple Camera Connection kit' or '30 pin to SD' in Google. Apple sells it for $30, and it comes with a USB and SD card adapter. …
