Product Information

  • Use the Apple Wireless Keyboard on your desk, on your lap, or anywhere within 30 feet of your Mac or iPad — all because of its built-in Bluetooth technology. Its compact design takes up 24 per cent less space on your desktop than full-sized keyboards, so you have extra room to move the keyboard around and mouse comfortably beside it. You’ll also feel a difference when you type on its low-profile, anodised, aluminium enclosure with crisp, responsive keys. Use the function keys for one-touch access to a variety of Mac features such as screen brightness, volume, eject, play/pause, Mission Control, and Launchpad.

The Apple Wireless Keyboard requires just two AA batteries - one less than the previous model. And its intelligent power-management system conserves battery life. So when you’re not using the keyboard, it powers down automatically. The instant you start typing, it turns on again. Use the on/off switch when you're away from your computer for a long time.

I used to think the keyboard in my old Powerbook G4 was the best I had used, until this was released. The response is great and keys are springy and always register a click. I like this keyboard so much that I bought one for work, with my own money, rather than use the cheap office one.

The battery life is great and a huge improvement over the first wireless keyboard. I think I change the batteries after four months and that is will daily use and I use it a lot, but can't remember it's so infrequent.

It's great at a desk and now I use it on the couch on my lap, with the Mac Mini connected to my TV. Same size keys as a regular keyboard, but small enough to tuck into the end of the coffee-table when not in use. Love that it goes into a stand-by/sleep mode and I never need to turn it off. Just stop using it and then tuck it away. No delay or waiting for it to re-connect when I come back to use it hours or a day later. If only there was a model with a touchpad (hint, hint).

The wireless keyboard (as well as the wired keyboard) have virtually the same layout, save the function button, smaller control and alt keys, and small arrow-pad. This means that as I move from laptop-keyboard to wireless-keyboard, I do not have to adjust my typing habits to compensate for altered ergonomics.

The tactile response of the keys is noticeable yet not wearisome.

Bluetooth distance has never been a problem for me even paired with an tower outfitted with an external USB bluetooth dongle.

I am a daily user and have replaced the batteries in my laptop twice in about 7 months.

    No gripes here.

    2) it's so perfect that it spoils you and quickly makes you not like other keyboards including the full size keyboard with the function keys so far away from typing position.

  • All round, A great "little" keyboard!

Stylish, Fast, and I use the word "little"... Firstly, it looks great. Its aluminium housing fits in with all apple computers and notebooks, but still looks good with any computer. It has precision cut edges giving it a reel feel of quality. The keys are a perfect size, feel soft to the touch but strong enough for heavy use. The letter/numbers etc are sort of clear to see, I say sort of because they are quiet difficult to see when in a low light environment which brings me to my only negative point which I will explain below. They are also in a perfect layout, not too close together while not to far apart, leaving ugly empty spaces, which you find on many keyboard today, so it doesn't make you hands/wrists ache after a long time typing as all the keys are at an easy reach! White is where the word little come in, As the keys are placed and arrange they way they are, apple have been able to keep the keyboard small, making it fit onto almost any environment and again keep it looking stylish. As for fast, it connects almost instantly and I have yet to see it buffering/lagging when typing. Battery life I have yet to discover as I have only had the keyboard for 2 weeks. But many other reviews say it last a good amount of time before batteries need replacing. I now come onto my only negative point, which I would say is quite a big one... Backlight... This keyboard would really benefit from a backlight, as seen on the MacBooks... Yes, it would greatly shorten the battery life, but apple could give the keyboard some form of a rechargeable battery that you can recharge by usb for example... But, this aside, its a great "little" keyboard!

    Pros:
    Style
    Size
    Feel
    Layout
    Connectivity

    Cons:
    No Backlight

I cannot recommend it too highly. In short, it's a comfortable to use, great looking and extremely robust keyboard.
