Simple, Inexpensive Solution

I purchased the Griffin Loop Stand about two weeks ago. It's design reminds me of the stands that Apple uses in their stores to display the iPad. The Loop Stand takes that a few steps further by allowing both portrait and landscape modes at two different angles. The upright position is great for viewing video, as I often stream MLB games on it. The other position is great for typing emails, working in pages, etc. Overall, it's one of the best and most affordable stands I've found so far for the iPad. Highly recommended. …More

Typing angle on this stand is a pleasure, viewing movies on this stand is a pleasure, and docking it is great because the power cable still fits even in verticle oriemtation. It has good weight to it to kepp it firmly planted even when pressing the home button. Best purchase and a great price. Highly recommended. …More

The Best stand I could ask for

Typing using the stand is a pleasure! I use it all the time, even when I sit on the couch because of the perfect angle at which it holds the iPad. Someone was complaining about the price, but 30$ today isn't that much. You pen 1000$ for the iPad and complain about the 30!?

Slips out a lot

I have had this stand for many years and while its easy to use and not too bulky, my iPad will slowly slip out of the holder. This is usually a shock to me while watching a movie as the iPad will suddenly fall to the floor. And every time I think it's time to toss this holder and get a new one but then I keep using it hoping my iPad wont slip out of it. But it does. Cannot handle portrait mode

The loop cannot grip the iPad when inserted in portrait mode. Actually quite dangerous as the iPad flips backwards.

Useless for portrait mode!

This thing is hopeless - it may be great if all you care about is landscape mode, but the whole reason I bought it was for portrait mode. The iPad just slides right out and flips over backward. What an absolute joke. This over-priced ($50) piece of plastic has only got one job to do, and it fails in this miserably. I'm gobsmacked that they didn't test this properly.

Its going back to the shop tomorrow. Im gonna go thermonuclear on this if they won't refund my money. …More

I have a Speck case which fits perfectly in the Loop. The Loop's cradle 'gap' is quite wide - so I imagine it will accomodate fairly thick cases. As Apple suggest this stand is brilliant for the low angle orientation to allow desktop typing. Highly recommended. …More

In my opinion, your concerns aren't warranted. The Loop is an extremely sturdy and secure design, in fact, more so than an easel because the base area is much wider and heavier. The "openings" in the base that hold the iPad are very well-supported from behind and are far enough apart to be very stable as well. Any of these stands could theoretically be knocked off a table, but this one is sturdier than any I've seen. …More
