Does this work with both 3rd and 4th generation iTouch
My husband has a 3rd generation iTouch and mine is a 4th generation. He had a universal docking adaptor with it when bought but mine didn't. It helps keep the iTouch more stable when docked in our new Ruark stereo. I was just wondering if I bought the adaptor three for £6 from Apple that both our iPods would fit. Also do they only come in white? Many thanks

Is this the right adapter to use my ipod touch (16GB) wiih a Sony Micro Hi-Fi system CMT--LX40i? Not sure if 1st /2nd generation.
I have been given a Sony Micro Hi-Fi system CMT-LX40i to use with my ipod touch but it did not come with a dock adapter. I am confused and can get no help from our local shops/suppliers about which dock adapter to use. Can you help me please and do you supply them?

AnswerHi MD:
If your Apple iPod touch has a volume control on its side, then it's a 2nd generation touch; else it's a 1st generation touch. (There was no Late 2009 or 3nd gen iPod touch with 16GB of memory.)
Both devices use different iPod Adapters....the 1st gen uses no. 14 and the 2nd gen uses no. 16.
Read the Apple Knowledge Base Article No. HT 1380 titled, "Learn about Apple Universal Dock"....as it lists all the iPod Adapter Numbers.
Good luck and enjoy your music thru the Sony Micro Hi-Fi System.- Answered by Avron Al G from Grants Pass

AnswerVisit the Apple Knowledge Base Article number HT1380 titled, "Learn about Apple Universal Dock"
It shows the Adapter Number for all iPods.
The iPhones have Adapters Numbers 12 and 15; and
The touches have Adapters Numbers 14 and 16. (It doesn't mention the 3rd generation touches so apparently they use Adapter Number 16....same as the 2nd generation touches.)
I hope this helps you out.- Answered by Avron Al G from Grants Pass
