Ratings & Reviews

  • Get the cord adaptor instead.

I ordered 2 of these adaptors. BIG PROBLEM: they do not connect to your Iphone 5 if you have a case. (I have the speck case). Si nce EVERYONE has a case, I am confused as to why Apple would make this product, or not even warn you that it does not plug in when a case is on your phone. The cord adaptor is a bit more expensive, but at least you won't ruin your case by having to continually put it on and off to use the adaptor.

  • Will not work if your iPhone 5 has any kind of cover

    2.0 out of 5 stars

The length of the lightning adapter is too short if you have any kind of cover with your iPhone 5. I have an Apple-like bumper cov er (similar to iPhone 4/4S) and the metal contact on the adapter is WAY TOO short. I suggest getting the Lighting to 30-pin Adapter Cable instead. The cable has a thin longer Lightning connection that will work with most iPhone 5 covers.

  • Useful but expensive

It seems to be a useful adapter to have, but for it to cost £25.00? Seems a bit of a rip off to me...

  • Does Not Work The Way Your Sales Team Said It Would

    1.0 out of 5 stars

My original ipod went kaput. We struggled to come up with money to buy a new one and weren't sure we were going to since the new n ano has the lightening pin. We feared having to buy all new accessories since my old ipod was set up with a dock at our Mac, another doc at our stereo which also had an aux cable hooked into our stereo and our tv and I had an fm transmitter/charger that allowed me to listen on the car stereo as well. Your sales team assured us that the 30 pin adapter would work with everything so we would not have to spend more than the $30 for the adapter. Guess what? IT DOESN'T WORK WITH ANYTHING. I can no longer listen to my ipod in the car. I can no longer listen to it on the stereo. I can no longer watch tv shows with it on my tv. All it will allow me to do is charge the ipod in the old dock. This was a total waste of money and time. And it just makes me miss my old ipod since this one is only good for listening with earphones. Big whoop.

  • Doesn't fit with case

    1.0 out of 5 stars

I tried this with both a iPod 5th generation and my iPhone 5. The iPhone has a proper case, adn the iPod has a thin plastic case. In both cases, the converter was useless. I bought it to try and allow my daugther to use here iHome clock with her iPod 5th gen. Didn't work. This was a waste of $30.

  • Works perfectly in 2010 WV Sportwagen...

    4.0 out of 5 stars

Just upgraded to an iPhone 5 and added this adapter to the phone end of my Cable Jive MDI extension (30 pin) in the car and it wo rks perfectly. All interface options work perfectly, steering wheel and radio buttons work great. The only draw back is that I need to remove my case to allow the Lightning plug to plug in to the iPhone 5 hence the 4 stars and not 5.
