Good Product but still lacks complete sweat protection.

I just picked up Gen. 5 nano with this armband and the nike+ kit. This armband fit the nano with the nike+ sensor snuggly and straps comfortably around my average sized biceps. Took it for a 5K run and everything felt and functioned properly. After the run I took the nano out and noticed that the back side of the nano was damp from the sweat that had seeped through the back of the felt material on the ipod holder. So there were beeds of sweat on the back of the Nano. The front of the Nano was dry and well protected. Personally I would recommend this only for comfort but if you need absolute sweat protection, you might want to look at the H2O cases. Another recommendation would be to seal the nano with Glad Press N' Seal before putting it into the armband. …More

Only if you DON'T sweat!
Written by RM from Riverside

The first time I used this armband it was very difficult for the face to acknowledge any finger movement because the plastic is too thick AND being on the treadmill for 45 minutes and having sweat pretty good - I didn't expect the nano to be WET. It froze on me and I had to gently place it in a warm area to dry it out. Fortunately it still works, but I would not recommend this armband because of this serious issue when exercising. Too costly of a shortfall. I almost lost my brand new nano! …More

I bought this armband for my girlfriend and she loves it! (she runs and bikes). I even tried it on myself and its really conformable! the only down side is that it only comes in 1 color. colors like blue, red, or yellow may have been better then a plain boring gray.. but thats just me. I recommend it to any woman out there! …More

Submarine with a screen door

That's the worth of this hunk 'o junk. You should be able to give it zero stars. Like most posters said below, it doesn't repel ANY sweat, it slips on the arm unless you pull it so tight you lose circulation, you can't access the lock button, and the clear plastic renders the wheel useless. It basically turns your Nano into a shuffle that is vulnerable to skipping and destruction (see sweat). …More

Ipod armband
Written by RD from Barnsley

On a positive note it provides my ipod with adequate support during training sessions, but is no good AT ALL when sweating, it seems to make the area of skin wet underneath the armband - as its made of a rubbery substance, being white it also gets very dirty which doesn't wash off! I am going to replace it with the Belkin armband. :-( …More

Difficult to use when you run!
Written by MG from Washington

While the armband does do the trick in keeping your iPod on your arm, the plastic layer that protects the wheel is so thick that the wheel isn't responsive when touched - which is frustrating if you're trying to change songs or volume mid-run. Also, you have to pull your iPod out of the band to unlock the lock button at the top, which is crazy since I generally keep my iPod in the armband locked between runs so it won't get hit in my bag and use up battery power. Or you can do what I did which was to try to unlock it from the outside of the band - this has resulted in the whole band splitting along the top seam. Finally, the color and material do not hold up on the smell/sweat test. Apple needs to seriously reconsider its running audience and redesign this armband! …More

I have no idea - tried to ask this question myself and the website brought me to this after I entered my apple id ... seems they don't make anything for use on a belt when working out - shame as armbands are not that comfortable to my way of thinking. Cheers. …More
