Fantastic but.....

Just received this Macbook pro 15" case and I am really surprise of the quality. Very good protection in a very light case. It is also beautiful! The only bad thing is, I got a Speck case and the macbook with this case is really tight and it is a bit difficult to close the zipper especially in the top two corners. But I cannot blame Thule for that ;-) , Of course without the Speck this "attaché" is simply amazing... …More

Exceptional Quality + Design

My favorite case, and even works great with the MacBook Air

I need to travel around town every day for my business with my iPad and laptop, and this is the best case I have used so far.. Not only does it offer great protection for my iPad and MacBook Air (I got rained on the other day and this bag appears to be totally waterproof), but it offers the space I need without being bulky.

Even though this bag is intended for use with a 15 inch MacBook Pro, it works great with my (awesome by the way) 13 inch MacBook Air, but only when used with a soft neoprene or other small case. This Air by itself would flop around inside the laptop section and wouldn't be secure without the use of a small soft case. Using a small soft case, the Air fits in the laptop compartment snugly, and it has extra protection. I haven't tried the 13 inch Thule Attaché case, but II suspect the 13 inch MacBook Air would not be too secure in that one by itself either. Also, the 13 inch case was a little too small for my needs.

Mac Book Air 13" Vs Thule Case 15"

I've been looking at the Thule case for my 13 inch Mac Book Air for a while and I could not decide on the Thule 13 or 15 inch case.
From the reviews I have read, the MBA 13" and the 13" Thule case is a tight fit, so I bought the 15" case (thinking in the future I may upgrade to a 15" laptop), and the 15" inch case works for me.
When I first placed the MBA in the case, my initial thought was I had made a mistake as it looked as if the MBA would rattle around inside the case; however, I found after daily use, that the MBA easily slips in and out under the securing strap without scraping and although it is not a tight (locked-in) fit inside the case, when the case is closed, the inner sleeve padding section in the case holds the MBA in place.
I've tried the MBA in the case around my home as "a walk around" and the MBA feels secure and I have not felt any movement of the MBA inside the case.
The Thule outer case has one side flat and the other curved, this makes the case excellent to rest a laptop on if you are typing on your lap and when typing "in-case" (with the case open).
When used "in-case", I found that my MBA 13" can be used inside the Thule 15" case with MBA power and USB cables connected; however one minor down point, the case edge does have a soft dig into my wrists when typing "in-case", that is the only thing I have found against the case.

Very nice daily case

I have really grown to like this case more and more over time. I purchased this for a 15" rMBP, iPad 3rd gen. and chargers, etc. I primarily use this for just going from home to work. If I had to use this regularly for travel where I would need to fit in lots of papers and other things, it might be on the small side. For my use, it is almost perfect.

One trick I found is if you are carrying an iPad in the designated pocket, it is better to stand it up portrait instead of landscape and move it to one side. That gives you room on the other side of the pocket behind for bulkier items, like the chargers. This allows the case to easily close and not strain the zippers.

It would be a little better if it was just slightly deeper to allow a little more cushion for fitting more items in. Shedding a 1/2 to 1 pound or so wouldn't be bad either. That said, it is a great case - protective from bumps/small drops and weather while still attractive and unique. Some have mentioned the odor initially. If you let it air out a day or two, it pretty much dissipates. …More
