    Please upgrade!

    • Written by from Maryland

Well I've had this charger for a few months and suddenly it doesn't work. I'm guessing it's the way I use it but I feel like this charger is too weak and should be upgraded. My iPhone 3 charger that I used to have worked great even if the skin on the charger was ripped. Guess I have to buy a new one.

Charging cable and battery life. Bummer.

    • Written by from Cameron Park

I love my iPhone but have 6 broken chargers and my phone shuts down with 30% left. My chargers get a lot of use because I'm always "plugged in" I'm a sales professional and can't depend on my phone. Going to have to make some hard choices in September

    Apple should do better

    • Written by from Hampden

My charger stopped working after 4-5 months of regular use. I bought a replacement but not from Apple because even if the cheap charger stops working in a few months at least I didn't break the bank. Apple really needs to step up the quality and stop forcing people to shell out even more money for their products.

The 2 meter is not as flimsy

    • Written by from Germantown

I've been though a few of these .5 m, but the 2 meter cable has a thicker cord and appears to be holding up a lot better. I will be buying the 2 meter if another .5 meter one breaks.

    Faulty Cables

    • Written by from Melbourne

I have had my iphone 5 I think for about a year now (well, since it was released in AUS) and the phone itself is great but I cant remember how many cables I have gone through so far!! I have gone through I reckon about 12 so far and that's just an approximation. Non-genuine ones aren't compatible or stop working so we're forced to buy expensive apple cables that don't work after a short time? Get ur act together apple!

    compact but not great...

    • Written by from stafford

yeah they're compact and great to eye!! but that's all they're good for...to look at.
I've had my iPhone5 7 months, my original cable stopped working after 6 months.
I look after my things with respect and definitely not heavy handed with any of my technical devices.
I tried a few cheaper cables on the market and every time they popped up with the 'not supported' notification. So, I brought another original iPhone cable 2weeks ago for £15.
so far so good. but i'm not relying on it to last too long... my partner has only had his iPhone 5S since late October 2013 were now 23rd January 2014 (3months approx.) and his original cable has gone This morning, it wont connect/charge nothing. Apple, there is something wrong with design of these cables.

oh, and we've cleaned the plug in area on our phones too...very much care has to be taken when doing this, we used cotton buds/q-tips. didn't help resolve the issues.

weve had iphone 3s and 4s, pods 3s and 4s.... those charging/synincing cables are fine and hardy and still work today no replacements have EVER been made.

    Not the usual Apple quality

Disappointed with how easily this cable can become unusable with normal usage. On my third cable in under a year. Please make these cables more durable Apple!

this cable is ok but it breaks down witjhin 2 months and it really isnt what apple should be making they should recall the product and make a better cable because my cable started to breakdown at the end and the cable started to split open so the wires are exposed and that is very dangerous if a little kid got it or water got into it

Rubbish in comparison to original iPod 30 Pin USB cable. Wouldn't connect to PC every time from purchase and stopped charging properly after a few months

Normally Apple products are easy to use, well designed and relatively durable. This change is a pain because not only did my cord break from regular use with out abuse, it had trouble fitting in my iPod and I frequently received messages saying charging was not supported with this accessory. This is very frustrating that I am unable to charge my device without spending more money than I started with to replace a breaking cable.

I've had far to many problems with this charger. Mine broke within 2 months of use. I brought a quick 5 dollar one at the a nearby store but that one broke even faster it only lasted a week. The fact that it is 19.99 for another cable to me is completely rediculious concidering the quality i not at all worth 19.99.

    Not a satisfied customer

    • Written by from Jacksonville

I have gone through almost a dozen cables in the 5 months I have has the iPhone 5!! The last one I had stopped letting me charge or sync to computer but if I use old cable with adapter I can sync fine! Instead of spending more money on more cables I'm going to use the reliable 30 pin cable with the adapter. And it's not like I'm rough with the cables. I know that they are horrible so I am VERY careful. Apple needs to make a better and more reliable cable for the iPhone 5. The only plus to it is when the cable does work it charges quickly.

Very weak cord. Nothing like the 30 pin. You need to provide a better product. This is beneath your normal quality. Junk the Junk!

    Rip-off :-(

    • Written by from Brompton

To charge A$25 for this is a blatant rip-off and an insult to customers - and that's before addressing the Apple revenue strategy of having a different proprietary connection for just about every new model - what's wrong with micro USB???

    Fragile and dosent work

    • Written by from Danville

I've had my Ipad Mini for about 4 1/2 months and I have had no problems so far. Then i came to this one. I tried charging my ipad and it didn't show any signs of charging. So I tried another outlet thinking that something was wrong with that one. Then, that one didn't work. Then, I realized that the cord has opened up! You could see all the wires on the inside! So, in the end, this is very fragile and you should be very careful when using it.

    It melted

    • Written by from Hillsboro

i have had this cable since the ipad mini came out and i do have to agree it is a lot more durable than the previous 30 pin cable. a few weeks later I went to unplug my ipad and the charger had melted wich caused for a relatively expensive cable and my new ipad!
