    Works Great

    I bought this thinking that it would be chunky and not be able to work when I have a case on my iPhone. But it fits my phone perfectly with the case on. The people that are complaining about it must have very chunky cases if they adapter is not working. It was definitely worth buying as now I can use my iPhone on all of my old docks.

    Works like a dream

    Purchased this to use with the MDI device used in Volkswagens. Does what it says on the tin, charges my iphone and outputs music. Can't complain

    Works on my i30

    When I bought the iPhone 5 I was a bit apprehensive because I feared an incompatibility with my 2011 Hyundai i30 sound system.
    Fortunately, everything worked perfectly. I keep mine always plugged to the car cable.

    Works better then 30 Pin for me.

    I am using it in my 2006 BMW with an OEM ipod adapter, not only it work fine, but it seems to work better than a using the 30-pin connector on previous iPhone.

    I have noticed that this device has some sort of memory build in to it, when I disconnect the IPhone when I leave my car and come back to it later the last played track continues playing that track rather than starting from the first song on the device.

    Also when the IPhone is connected it start playing straight away, it doesn't go through the initialisation process which it used to do (about 30s to a minute depending on the number of songs) which was the case when I was using a 30 pin device.

    Couldn't be more happy with it as it fixed the flaws I had been dealing with in previous devices.

    Works with Yamaha YDS-10 dock and iSimple car set up.

    I was very skeptical about upgrading my iphone 4 to 5 because of the compatibility issues, but it turned out to be a non issue for me. Got this adapter mostly for my car and it WORKS. I installed iSimple mod to AUX input so I could listen and charge Iphone at the same time, as a bonus I can skip tracks from the steering wheel. This adapter allows me to use the iPhone 5 just the same. My yamaha piano craft RX-E810 and ipod dock work with this adapter as designed. I can control my iphone through a remote, see my playlists etc right on the display.
    A slim case is a must for this mod to fit.

    poor design for music output

    Doesnt work in my 2012 Mercedes, my Yamaha DAB, my Onkyo docking port or my Ruark DAB - so that is every device I have - £25 for a power converter and I purchased 2 before I found out...

    Most unhappy that if Apple change connector on their products and do not ship free adapter so their existing customers that have Apple accessories are prevented from using them!!

    I used last night to charge phone and worked ok. I have an otter case and fits just snuggly ( I tried at store before buying). I'll try video and see what happens...

    Great Adapter! Works with my iSimple in Suburban!

    5 stars because this little adapter does exactly what is claims! It works with my iHome alarm clock dock, all my existing cables and Yes! it works with the iSimple cord my husband had installed in my suburban about 3 years ago to play my iPhone/iPod over the car stereo. This adapter still allows the cord to charge my phone and it plays just as before with all previous functions and the sound is still superb. I am very happy!
    My only complaint is that I want a lot more of these adapters and they are expensive! I would love one to leave one on the dock and to leave one in the car and I would love to have one to carry around in my purse for emergency charge needs. My kids all want one for their iPods now as well. $30 here $30 there-Adds up quickly....Oh, those Apple geniuses...;)
    This adapter works fine with my thicker two piece case. I simply cut the thin little rubber pieces of my case off that were located on either side of the speakers and the adapter now fits and goes on and off easily. The cases were made for lightening not 30 pin. Cases and docks/connectors have always had issues. It is not the first time that I have had to modify a case to fit a 30 pin connector nor will it be the last I'm sure.
    I am very satisfied with this adapter. Then again I have yet to be disappointed in anything Apple. ;)

    Connected to my A5

    Was given new Ipod touch 5th Generation for Christmas. I wanted to get all my music into one place and listen in my car.

    Have an Audi A5 2010 model and unfortunately I couldnt connect with the audi supplied leads.
    Purchased this 30 pin to lighting and it works really well. All the tracks and information are visible on the central in car screen and I can control the ipod from the dashboard.

    Well worth the money.

    Many bones to pick...

    First off, the pin is too short to work with devices with cases and to me it's kind of obvious that a huge majority of Apple device owners have cases on their devices. But what bothers me more is the price. I just simply want to be able to use my dock like I was able to before you went and changed the connection. But no, I have to fork out $35 for a tiny adapter that from what I've read from some reviews doesn't work on all docking stations and have to continue to remove the cover from my device every time I wish to dock it. It would have been a lot more simple to have the lightning connector come in the box with the device you have purchased.

    Big Miss on Video

    No Video Out is a huge miss. New technology should NOT go backward. Unforunately with no solution to connect to 100% of car stereo installations that have a video presence is a BACKWARDS movement. A huge miss, I'm afraid.

    Does NOT work with JBL 200iD docking station

    As above, doesn't work with the JBL docking station. Just no sound whatsoever. If you use the headphone out and plug it into the headphone jack of the docking station, then it works, but forget about using he Lightning to 30-pin adapter. It just doesn't work, My wife's older iPod Nano with the 30-pin output works fine. Mine? Nada.

    On top of this, even when I use the adapter to charge my iPod off the computer, it takes a few minutes for the laptop to even recognize the iPod is connected. Overall I am disappointed in this product and I agree that it costs far too much for what it is.

    This should be bundled with the iPhone 5

    With the cost of the iPhone 5 being what it is, this adapter should come bundled with it, simple as that. There have been so many accessories developed to fit the old 30-pin connector over the years and most of us have at least one. For Apple to charge $35 for this thing is an insult to it's customers, who have already shown their loyalty by buying Apple products in the past that use the old connector type! How about showing some loyalty yourselves Apple. $35? Really? Give us a break!

    Pin to short

    This will play alarms and charge my iPhone 5 with my speaker set (which is Sony and I love love love it) the audio works no problems but it won't fit into my phone with the case on. :( really apple, there has to be something you can do for us. My case doesn't need to be on when its on the dock but I put it on EVERY NIGHT! I don't want my case to get stretched out and useless because I have to take it off every night... I'm going to take a Dremel to it and see if I can make it fit on my own. This is a great adapter you guys... I was hesitant to try it because of all of the negative reviews but I tried it with great hope it would work and it did. Good luck in all your endeavors...

    Lightning to 30-pin Adapter

    I got this from the Apple store on Oxford as I previously had an iPod and I wanted to be able to use my iPhone 5 to connect using my iTrip, my Bose system and to charge it with my existing car charger - and it does all of the above!!!! Most thrilled I can still use my Bose docking station with my iPhone 5 and the staff at the store were really helpful - it's secure, doesn't wobble and I am very happy. I am also able to use it with the phone still in its protective case

    This thing works even with a case!

    I just bough this to keep my 30 pin iPod cable in my car. Not trying to give Otterbox free advertising, but I have the Defender series box and I can use this adapter just fine. In short, get this Otterbox, and keep your iPhone looking like new and use your 30-pin Adapter!

    Works fine with cases

    I have an otter box case and this adapter works fine with it, as long as the bottom of your cases is completely open and doesn't have separators for each speaker and the jacks it will work just fine. so far have had no problems connecting it to my I-home dock..... Great adapter to have if you have multiple 30inch pin cords.
