    Performed as advertised.

    Just purchased for Nikon coolpix S8000. Hooked it up using USB cable. Immediately downloaded around 30 pictures. Am looking forward to trip to Italy in June without having to lug around laptop. $29 price seems about right.

    Not enough power... even for a thumb drive!

    Oh come on Apple.... fix this problem for the new iPad! Only thing works is SD card but I use Compact Flash! Won't work with connecting the camera, any of the cameras I have, won't work with connecting a usb thumb drive!, won't work connecting a external usb card reader either! Any one have a solution? A third party adapter??

    Doesn't work with ipad3

    I'm using a transcend 16Gb SDHC card. The iPad doesn't recognize that the card reader is plugged in.

    iPad 3, GarageBand, Snowball USB mic'

    I use the camera connector to connect a Blue Snowball USB mic' to my iPad 3. It works well with GarageBand. Small gripe - the connector is not a snug fit in the iPad and it's vulnerable to knocks.

    Works perfectly with iPad3!

    Despite the somewhat mixed reviews here, I purchased one of these and it was pleased to find that it works just fine and dandy with my iPad3. First I connected the USB piece and connected my digicam - and boom - hundreds of pics came right through. I was impressed at the speed given the large image files I had. Then I tried again with an SD card, and boom again - the pics came flying through. This is uber-easy to use and it does what its advertised to do. I haven't tried any wacky uses or connecting other non-camera devices through the USB - I got it to load images - and that is exactly what it does, pure and simple.

    i have just tried to use my connection kit with new ipad 3

    it just doesnt work..can anyone suggest another way to get pics onto the ipad

    Needs iOS5.1 to work for MP4

    Works great. Only thing is that I had to update my iPad to iOS 5.1 for it to read the MP4 files on my GoPro2.

    Doesn't import video

    I paid $45 for this piece of junk and it won't import videos. Thank you Apple for misrepresenting its capability.

    I'm now in Europe and completely knackered because it is pointless now to shoot videos.

    I wish I didn't love my stupid iPad

    The camera connect kit works with my camera. But the memory card reader is WEAK! My pictures happen to be in the dcim folder on my sd card... I moved them there myself and verified on my computer. However the ipad2 still says no photos on the memory card 16gb. Photos were taken in a droid razr maxx. (maybe the file names are wrong for Apple or something) They are .jpg Who cares though...
    Why the heck cant I just use the memory card reader as a memory card reader and move files photos and whatever I want back and forth from my ipad?

    Neither my iPod, nor my iPad support the SD card reader or the USB reader. What gives Apple? Why would you sell something like this?

    Can not get iPad to read card reader, have tried several types of cards still nothing, alo tried USB but was unable to read flash drives didn't try camera yet as i have spent several hours on card reader.

    so i bought this connector kit for a trip to the tropics and it worked fine by transferring photos from my cannon s95 with the SD card reader just plugged into my ipad3 and the upload took about a minute for about 300 pics.. pics look awesome on the new ipad with the resolution and all. So now i want those same pics on to my wife's macbook air but wait a minute some how i cant transfer any pics from ipad to mac ????? there are all these wireless ways and methods to do this but come on this should be basic technology for anyone using a computer no matter what brand??? so now i tried the connector that uses a USB connector ok lets plug it into the ipad and upload those pics on to my 4gb USB...... OH my usb is to much power for my ipad ???????? the point of this adapter ??? to transfer the pictures that were on my camera back to my camera?? I read reviews that this use to actually work but apple put a stop to it.. shame on you apple

    RAW Files, No Problem

    I bought this with reservation as the definition didn't clearly state how raw files were handled. CR2 (Canon RAW) images are imported extremely fast from my DSLR; And display immediately when complete. When editing in iPhoto, there is no need to convert to jpg; you edit the RAW file and then can email (at which time it is converted to jpg automagically).
    I would recommend this to any pro photographer who wants to shoot, then display at weddings or at family photo shoots.
    I love this product!!

    Doesn't work with SDXC cards

    I really only wanted the SD card reader to read photos and only after the fact of buying this Kit do I find out that SDXC cards are not supported, This may not be Apple's fault, but I find it to be very frustrating, I bought the SDXC card because it is 64 gig, enough for HD video files on my camera for vacation, now I have to take my laptop to upload from my camera. Just a word of caution to anyone in my situation. Make sure you are not using an SDXC card as this product will not work.

    It doesn't "just work"

    I purchased the CCK to import photos. Needless to say after over 4 hours of researching why it won't work, I'm giving up and returning it. I've tried 4 different brands/sizes of SD cards to no success. They have all been formatted correctly. They all have the correct DCIM root folder with 8 figure names plus extension .jpg . The iPad 2 recognizes the reader. Put any of the cards in the slot... nothing. It doesn't just work. I've been a Mac fanatic since the 80s, but since the iOS reign, I must say that no, Mr. Jobs' ghost, it doesn't 'just work'.

    Worked Once & Nothing After! DO NOT BOTHER!

    I was able to transfer 150 photos to my iPad3 using my 16GB SD Card from my Nikon D90. Worked like a dream ONCE!

    BUT...Ever since, the iPad will only read 5 photos out of 50 new photos! All are JPEGs just as before! All are from the same camera & same SD Card!

    I have erased & re-formatted the SD Card and reloaded the Photos...SAME RESULT!

    I have NEVER had this much BS factor with any other apple device!
    Run Fast - Run Far - From this device!

    PS the USB connector is functionally USELESS!

    It works!!

    I have the new ipad, and I only tried the SD card reader... It works as it should! Moments later I was able to see the thousands of photos that are on my SD card on "photos" and I was able to select the photos that I would like to download on my "photos" app. I will try to use the USB connector later, and hopefully I would be able to use other USB electronics with it (like USB keyboard, etc, as mentioned by another reviewer).

    Worked great with latest iPad (iPad 3) for us

    Took hundreds of photos on our vacation and wanted to back up the photos from the SD card used in the camera. We didn't bring our laptops/Macbooks, only iPads. Found an Apple store and they hooked us up. I'd seen this Camera Connection kit but didn't know what it did. It read our Kingston SD card and we were able to load all of our photos onto the new iPad easily, no issues. On the 2nd use it asked if we wanted to skip the duplicates, so it only imported the new photos. So I suspect the reviews that say it doesn't work are perhaps SD card issues since it worked like a champ with our iPad , latest generation. The other adapter in the kit has a USB connection. So, if you have SD issues or don't want to remove it from the camera, use the USB cable from your camera to the adapter that plugs into the iPad. So great, when got home, plugged the iPad into the big screen TV and showed everyone out photos...easy peezy.

    Doesn't Work with Nikon D300

    Like many other reviewers I'm very frustrated with this device. It will not recognise my Camera and allow connection to my iPad however, my camera connects succesfully to my iMac and Macbook therefore it's not a camera or compact flash card issue.

    If I put the card into a card reader instead of a direct camera connection, then connect with the device to my iPad, I get the message that the device 'uses to much power'.

    Like many others I bought this device to review my photos on my iPad at the end of a shoot but the device doesn't recognise my camera or card

    What a load of rubbish, when Apple gear is normally so superb.
