Reviews for Apple iPad Dock

I love this for keeping my iPad upright on my desk at work. I keeps it at a nice angle that I can quickly reach over and look something up without having to move it or pull it towards me to see. While I am unable to use the dock in landscape mode, that really doesn't matter to me because I will just use the regular plug and use a case to hold the iPad in the landscape position.

By the way, OtterBox is making a Defender and Commuter case for the iPad with a removable section on the back to allow for the dock without having to remove the entire case.

I don't know why there are haters for this product. I simply love my dock. It sits perfectly on my desk next to my iPhone, sits sturdy and looks GREAT.

Plus points:

Its chunkier than it looks, so even with the small footprint your iPad won't fall over.
Line out is handy.

Minus points:

Won't fit if your iPad has a case. Even the slimline Apple one. And because cases are typically fiddly to remove you'll never use this dock if you have one.

iPhones don't fit in this - not even the iPhone 4

I bought many diff cases for my iPad, and so far Contour iSee for iPad is the only case that allows me to put my iPad on the dock without removing the case. The case came with a stand, but when it's in portrait mode, I can't charge my device. Apple iPad Dock is small and nice, you can't use it with landscape mode but I can use my stand for this purpose.

It seems some people love to find something negative about the Dock. My experiency is very positive. It does exactly what it is meant for like synchronizing and charching. The product and it's price.. a perfect match!

I bought a few of these babies. One for my room, my kitchen, and of course, my desktop.

It will do its job, no complaints about functionality.

I found that it was of very little value in the kitchen and in my room. My wife likes to watch movies in the kitchen and was forced to do it in portrait mode. Same deal in my room. I mean, most of the time I use it in my lap, but there are times where I just want to set it down and watch a movie.

They became glorified power adapters at best.

When I found the iPad case in stock, I just returned all three docks. I can take the iPad anywhere and have it stand any way I want to now. I don't need it charging all the time so I only connect it to a charger when it is in the bedroom.

I too, was unaware that the iPad would not fit on the dock, while in the case.....come on, apple, you can do better than that.. I love my iPad...considering getting an iPhone......but, the dock, I could have done without!

I don't know why people are are complaining that you can use it as a stand and you can't use it with a case. The point of this product is to sync and charge your iPad not for a stand. If you want a stand get the iPad Keyboard Dock and take off the case, chances are you will not need a protective case when you plant it on a sturdy dock. I have enjoyed the iPad dock considering I do not use a case. It does what it is supposed to. I am sorry but i LOVE my dock so... If you want something that works as intended get this.

Had I known I could not use this in conjunction with the Apple iPad case, I would not have bought this. If you aren't getting the case, then, it's ok. In itself, it does the job, holds it for charging and upright viewing, but that's about it.

Like many others, I pre-ordered the iPad, case, dock and insurance. Having not been able to dock while the iPad is in its case, and removing the iPad from its case is not as simple as one may think, the dock is unlikely to be used on any occasion that I can forsee. Very disappointing.
