    Simply doesn't work.

I used it for two 1 (one) mile runs, and now it is completely unresponsive. The iPod tells me over and over to keep walking around to activate sensor to no avail.

    Pish of rubbish

    • Written by from Norman

OK. I order it from amazon.com Dec 2009. I used it several times, but total running hours less than 2 hours. Whenever I don't use it, I take it out from my shoes and put it in a box. Now it's Jan 2009, I put it into my shoes choose work out from my Ipod Touch. My Ipod just tell me walk around to activate my sensor. I took the sensor out of my shoes and try to activate it by my hand(push the button) It still didn't work.

    DON"T BUY. IT"S A PIECE OF RUBBISH.

Don't buy it cause it doesn't work

    • Written by from Woodbridge

I have used two different Ipod Touches with three sensors. I recently purchase a new sensor after the previous worked fairly well for three months and then stopped working. The new sensors works for 6 minutes and then the sensor and the Ipod stop communicating. It requires shutting the iPod off, setting up the sensor as a new sensor and then it stops working in 6 minutes again. The old sensor only logged about 40% of the distance and ran or walked.
    This system is a failure.

    Love it!

I've had my sensor for a year now, and have logged about 500 miles so far. I used it initially with my ipod nano, and now with my iphone and it works great. I haven't had any problems with battery life and haven't had to replace it yet. My only problem was during my last half marathon- I couldn't get it to link with the phone and I did the whole race without it. It's very accurate and consistent for me (5'4") but isn't accurate at all for my husband (6'4").

Okay for runners that want to keep track of miles

    • Written by from Princeton

I am not a runner but do run sometimes just to be outdoors or utilize the treadmill when the weather is bad. My battery has lasted a long time not sure how many miles I have on this but has been in use for around 8 months. The only downfall is it does not take into acct other types of activities such as biking or other exercise equipment machines.. I know some gyms have compatible equipment but I would guess there are more that do not have this equipment than those that do... For me it was sort of a motivator to run and kind of fun to keep track on line just wish it would do more than just for running and walking....

    Battery life questionable

    • Written by from Centerport

I love the product, its perfect for keeping track of all my data as I train for my first marathon. However, my sensor only lasted for 110 miles and on my last run nothing was recorded. I guess I will have to buy three more now in case this happens again, as I will certainly be putting in a lot more miles over the next several months.

    Short battery life

    • Written by from Los Angeles

I'm not a runner, just a walker and sporadic at best. This sensor didn't last 50 miles. I love the technology but the battery life needs to be better, or there should be an actual 'off' button on the sensor. Obviously putting it to 'sleep' didn't do much to save the battery.

Don't know what I would do without it!

    • Written by from Cornwall

I love this product! I've tracked all my runs for the past two years. It is a life saver for training. I travel a lot and I can always get my runs in without having to plan out distances wherever I am. Its great to see progress too!
I've had two sensors now and will probably need a new one soon, so they could improve the battery life or make a unit with replaceable batteries for convenience and enviro reasons. Also, I find its good to recalibrate it once and a while. Seems to lose accuracy after a while. But hey, it helps me tremendously so I'm not complaining!

Good product but battery super limited

    • Written by from Bountiful

They say that the battery is supposed to last 1000 active hours, but that must be under some crazy unrealistic conditions. I was always very careful about making sure I put mine to sleep when not in use and still had to replace the sensor after only a few months. But I will keep replacing it because I like it. They should make the sensor cheaper! But i guess they would not make as much money.....

    Love it

I bought this in January of 08 and have logged 951 miles on nike+ website and my sensor just died today. Lasted almost a year and probably would have lasted longer had I taken off my shoes after run/walk.

The best feeling is when you switch to your power song, and start running faster and stronger! Although if the price decrease a bit, more people will buy it for sure

    it's true

    • Written by from Berlin

Battery life is really limited. I got the kit for Christmas and by March the sensor battery was dead, despite me putting it to sleep after every run (3x/week). I wonder if some of them ship "on," because it seems like a consistent problem.

    Am disappointed

    • Written by from Dallas

I thought my unit was the only defective one - turns out it wasn't and I am not going to spend another $20, plus buy another pair of the shoes.

I'll wear my heart monitor and my pedometer (that was given to me free) and get the same results.

Wish I had the original packaging still to send it back!

    Needs longer battery life!

    • Written by from Cypress

I bought my Nike+ sensor in May and have been on about 10 runs since then. It's October now and the battery is dead. I really liked using this product but now I'm supposed to spend $19 on a new one after just a few months? Apple, please come up with a sensor with a replaceable battery!

Total Junk - Can I rate less than one star?

    • Written by from Scottsdale

Bought it in May and used it for a total of 43 minutes until an injury and the Arizona heat forced me to put away my running shoes for the summer. Now in September the sensor is dead despite religiously putting it to sleep (even though it's supposed to not need it).

    It's Okay

    • Written by from Cape Girardeau

I bought this so I could lose weight and while it has helped me want to meet my goals I have set, the math it uses to calculate calories is messed up. You would think it would use time, distance and weight but it only uses steps. So I can run a mile or walk a mile and because when I run I take less steps it shows I burn less calories. I think they could fix this and make a version 2.0 but it when I talked to Nike they did not seem real interested.

    Apple NOT environmentally friendly...

    • Written by from Exeter

...certainly NOT environmentally friendly with this product. I bought the kit in June 2009 and the battery is dead in September 2009. I used it for approximately 200 miles. Now they expect me to fork out $19 plus shipping for another one? Horrible design. I have a cheap heart rate monitor that I can replace the battery (CR2032) when it dies, but if Apple thinks they can fool me into buying something for ANOTHER $20 needlessly, they're wrong. It's wasteful, bad for the environment, and entirely unreasonable. I'm cutting my losses. Google-map your run and get the mileage, compare against time and it'll probably be at least as accurate as this piece of garbage.
